Author’s Note
I normally write my mysteries in both first and third person point of view (POV), and I distinguish which POV it is by using chapter headings that have images of a gun for third person and a badge or bullet for first person.
This novel was written entirely in third person; however, there are different timelines involved, so the badge represents the timeline featuring the detective and the investigative part of the novel, and the gun represents the other (most of it in the past).
Please note also that the story goes back and forth in time, so please pay attention to the dates at the beginning of chapters.
