Chapter 7
Lucy and Paul met them at the door. Holding up a finger to her lips, Lucy indicated the need for quiet and pointed into the living room where Sammy was resting, a dog on either side of her. Paul nodded his head towards the chairs out on the terrace. Megan and Aiden quickly caught on and realize that the other two did not want to talk in front of Sammy. Paul and Lucy followed behind them with Lucy being careful to keep the door partly opened so she could hear if Sammy called out.
“Did she say anything to either one of you? How badly is she hurt?” asked Megan.
Lucy shook her head, but it was Paul who answered, the concern in his voice was clear.
