CHAPTER 14 ELSIE When we make it back to the kitchen, Brett takes small sandwiches out of the fridge and sets them out on the counter. He doesn't say anything as he fixes one for each of us, even though I know he's watching as I pour myself a glass of milk to drink with it. He nods to me when he sees I also have some juice, and he sits down at the table across from me.
