Donavon
I chased after Brantley. I heard a faint voice calling out, and I knew it was our Luna. When we rounded the corner, I felt like fainting. My Luna was leaned up against the wall. Her curly hair was matted, the whites of her hazel eyes were yellowed. Her deep-tanned skin seemed pale, and her chest was rising slowly.
My heart was pacing and my vision was blurred. What's happening to me? I stepped forward, my legs giving out, making me fall to my knees. My wolf, Skye, was losing his s**t. Skye, what’s happening? Our Alpha we found our Alpha. The moon goddess has blessed us. I didn’t understand. Skye took over our body and howled. The Luna stared at us, purring in response.
I felt my muscles tearing and I doubled over, my face touching the stone ground. I heard my bones popping, shouting out from the agony. Donavon you gotta relax. How?! My body was on fire and the pain was threatening to make me blackout. I roared again; the pain had me convulsing. Breath! Skye demanded as I took in big gulps of air. The pain was subsiding and I concentrated on my heart rate, willing it slow.
I pushed myself off the ground, staring back at the Luna. “Donavon, look at your arm.” Cyrus said, pointing. I looked down, mystified. My right arm was covered in a mark that looked like an intricate tattoo. Tiny purple flowers flowed from my wrist to my elbow, circling around. When I turned my palm up I saw that there was some writing in Latin, accompanied by a strange symbol. “My Delta.” the Luna whispered.
Brantley
The Luna’s words echoed, but I couldn't believe my ears. Donavon was her Delta?! I’ve only read about them in history books; Deltas were so rare. Donavon looked at me with worried eyes, “B, what’s happening to me?” “Holy f**k! You’re a Delta!” Cyrus yelled. Donavon ignored him, waiting for my explanation.
“The moon goddess created the mate bond so that our species can live happy lives and to procreate. The second bond she created is only given to a mated female Alpha and her Delta. The goddess grants us power through our titles as ranked members, to lead the pack. The ranked members are chosen by an Alpha, who has the right to give or take away our titles.” I explained. Everyone was listening.
I continued, “The title of Delta is not chosen, but destined. Deltas are born to serve directly under the female Alpha. Technically speaking, you would be her Beta.” Donavon looked puzzled, “Then what about the mark?”
I stared at the complex tattoo. “It is the symbol of the female Alpha’s pack. It represents her heritage, an homage to the alphas of her past. The Latin wording means Delta, as does the symbol. It also means that you and your wolf are now physically stronger.”
Donavon studied his arm, “So the Luna is actually an Alpha,” he stated. All eyes went to the Luna. She smiled, reaching up to her amethyst pendant. “I guess the cat’s out of the bag,” she said, pulling the necklace from around neck, revealing her true self. Even in her state, her aura was limitless. The pressure coming from her knocked us back a few steps. She put the necklace back on with shaky hands.
We scooted forward. “So, what does that mean for us?” Cyrus asked. I answered, “If she accepts us as the ranked member of the pack, we will also gain her blessing. We would become stronger and fight for lives even if it meant death. We would also bear her mark.” I walked closer to her, “Do you think we are worthy?”
She looked at Donavon, they seemed to be mind-linking. It was an extraordinary thing to witness. I'd never seen mind-linking between wolves who were non-pack members or relatives. Donavon nodded and the Luna turned her gaze to us. “Come closer,” she demanded, her words wheezy. We all stood inches from her.
“Do you vow to protect me, my pups; your future alpha, and my only remaining family with your life?” We kneeled down on one knee; our hands placed over hearts. “I vow to do so.” we said in unison. “Do you vow to protect and honor both your Alphas and our pack?” “I vow to do so.” “Rise, Brantley Wright, Cyrus Brown and Donavon Underwood.” We stood, “I accept you as my Beta, my Gamma, and my Delta.” Her words hit me like a ton of bricks, causing me to plummet to the ground.
I roared from the pain and could hear Cyrus echoing me. My chest was on fire and my bones were popping. My wolf, Raine, was trying to talk me through the pain. When then the burning stopped, forcing myself up. I looked over to see Cyrus standing too. He was staring down at his arm. I lifted my right one in the air to examine it, the tattoo matched Donavon’s but mine said Beta.
We kneeled back down, “Thank you, Alpha.” “You’re welcome. Now please, help us.” We rushed to her side. She waved us away and scooted closer to the duffel bags that were next to her. She peeled off a sticker and a car seat appeared. She reached inside, grabbing something. She moved her hand and a baby appeared. What the hell... It had plump rosy cheeks, and was dressed in green. I assumed it was a boy. He looked just like Dev. She repeated her motions two more times, revealing chubby babies dressed in pink and purple, two little girls.

We were all fascinated by the pups, our faces crowding their car seats. None of us has seen a set of triplets before. I stepped back from my ogling and scanned the room. “Where is your family?'' I asked. She grabbed a pink crystal and crushed it. The corner of the room began to shimmer, exposing two twin females, one was unconscious. The scent of blueberries was strong, Raine was howling in my head. “No f*****g way” Cyrus said. My mate was studying me as I walked closer. She beamed at me and my steps faltered. Her lip was busted, she was covered in cuts and bruises. She was the most magnificent woman I've ever seen.
I heard Donavon gasp, and I looked over to see Cyrus on his knees next to the other female. He had tears in his eyes, and choked out, “My mate.” I looked back at the woman in front of me. She closed the distance between us. Reaching out her hand to touch my newly marked arm, she set it ablaze with her electricity. " This must be destiny.” she whispered. I touched her cheek, staring into her eyes, the right one was gray and the left one hazel. I could get lost in her eyes for days. “What is your name?” I asked. She looked to her sister who had nodded. “My name is Lily.” Her voice was sweet and silky, her blueberry scent making me dizzy.
Donavon cleared his throat, “ I hate to interrupt, but we need to get the girls and pups to safety.” He undressed and shifted. The Luna put the stickers back on the seats concealing the babies. She dragged herself up, climbing onto his back. He grabbed one car seat in his mouth and waited at the door. Cyrus shifted too, so we helped secure Lily’s sister on his back. Storm, Cyrus’s wolf mind-linked me, wanting to know his mate’s name. I asked for him, Lily replied, “Her name is Lila.” Storm huffed in response and grabbed the second car seat. I shifted last, letting Lily hop on my back. Her touch was making Raine growl in pleasure. I picked up the last car seat and we bolted in the direction of home.
