Chapter 2. The Villa

Del Barrios residential Villa is considered a luxury Villa. It is a two-storey and has 10 bedrooms. It has exclusive amenities such as swimming pool, in- house staff, a sufficiently sized living space, an attractively decorated dining room, and a properly equipped and state-of-the-art kitchen. Sa first floor naman ay limang silid din. Dalawang silid ay para sa kanilang mga kasambahay. The other two are guest rooms and a master bedroom. Napakalawak ng espasyo ng first o ground floor, siyempre may living room, kitchen, may bar house and library! Napaisip tuloy siya, usually kasi or traditionally speaking single- level lang kadalasan ang Villa though talagang spacious ang area, really for the elite and wealthy.. Pero , the Del Barrio's Villa is too much ! Impressive and mighty just like the owner maybe hmm.. oh gawd! I need to shower na at baka kainin ako ng buhay ng striktong Lucian Del Barrio! Sophia wears a pastel yellow vest top and shorts coordinates along with a white flat shoes. She put a masscara and lip gloss. This will do, the color will perhaps lighten the mood of Mr. Boss ang sungit eh. Now, let's get this over with...saka ko na lang ilalagay sa closet ang mga damit ko.

Sophia knocks on the door of Lucian's office. Nasa second floor lang din namn ito, It is located in the west wing."Come in" . Pumasok siya sa loob. " Close the door... He raised his eyes to her, assessing her looks maybe? In that moment, she felt uncomfortable. Of course..sanay siyang tinitingnan because she's in the spotlight. But there is something the way Lucian looks at her that makes her uneasy. .. please ". he instructed. Wow sinabi ba niyang please. " Have a seat '. He gestured to her to sit in front of him. " Thank you". she replied. " Okay, let us introduce ourselves properly..but before I forget, did you check your email Miss Mendez?" " No.." I mean ,bakit nga ba hindi ako nag check ng email ko? I don't even check my phone , let alone check messages from my social media accounts. Simple lang naman..ayokong makita na nag pop up ang mga mensahe ng kasinungalingan ng hudas na lalaking yon! " I see.. I find it strange of a girl like you not checking her phone." wait , what! Where is this coming from.? " I don't get it , Mr. Lucian... " He cut her off ," If you checked your phone you'll know that I was waiting for you at the airport. " Sophia widened her eyes. "What do you mean?" She does know what he meant. " I meant to say that if you just check your phone you'll realize that there's a new message, instructing you to wait for me at the airport." He was tapping on the table in a boring manner. "Are you not a fan of your own cellphone Miss Mendez? he asked. Of course not! I am so into my phone. She wanted to shout at him telling that. But how can she tell him that ? She intentionally keeps her cellphone in her bag without checking it the whole time of her trip. And how can she tell him that she's not in her right mind while accepting the job offer . How can she tell him that it's a sort of escape from his douche of a boyfriend..well ex boyfriend. " Umm.. I was not checking my phone. I'm sorry." she told him flatly. Now we're even. You're quite a jerk the way you treated me on the bridge. So that's what this is all about ? she thought. That's why Mr. Gorgeous is quite upset if not angry. I am the reason for it hmmm. Nagkatitigan sila. Naasiwa naman si Sophia at ibinaling nito ang paningin sa tapestry ng opisina. This place really looks expensive . "I'm sorry too." Sophia looks at him abruptly. " I was so tired from the trip, I can't wait to go home , but then Mom and Dad instructed me to wait for you at the airport.. and I am waiting for nothing, so,." It doesn't take a genius to read between the lines. She understands what he is implying. Na kaya siya masungit ay dahil na rin sa kaniya. It's all her fault. " I understand Mr. Lucian . I'm really sorry." she apologized again. " Okay let's forget what happened and let's talk about business okay?" he nod at her. "Right, Sir." "You can call me Lucian ." " Is it okay with you?" "Yes. Do I look old for you to call me sir?" he smirked. She blushed. oh heavens, why did he smirk. "Mmnn..cute.." he muttered to himself. But Sophia clearly hears it! Her heart race. What's that supposed to mean? Is he toying with me? " So, where is Lileths? " she asked. He wants to evaluate kung anong klasing babae ang makakasama ng kaniyang anak. oh, shades.! "Earth to..Miss Mendez , or can I call you Sophia? Though, I did call your name on the way here." He stated. "Huh?.. pardon? Did you say something? she asked. "Yeah, you seem deep in thoughts. Is something bothering you? Are you hungry ? tired? .. perhaps we can talk about the matter tomorrow and .." " No, it's okay ." she cut him politely. " I'm a bit tired , yes..but I can manage." she smiled. Mabait naman pala ito eh. "Okay then,.." He proceeded by telling about the girl's aloof attitude since she was home schooled. But , since she graduated elementary and is ready to be in junior high school, naisip nila na kailangan nito ng p.a to accompany her. " So , what exactly is my duty? " she carefully asked. It was stated in her email na may yaya ito, may tutor, kaya kung kailangan lang nito ng makakasama mag shopping ..kaya naman itong gawin ng yaya. At kung kailangan Niya ng kausap ..anong ginagawa ng tutor.? And more importantly, ano nga bang ginagawa niya at hindi rin siya nag isip ng mabuti bago pumasok sa trabahong ito.? The answer lies in the betrayal of he's boyfriend. "To be her friend and if possible a mother." he answered coolly.

She gasped. "What !.. could you mean by that?! she widened her eyes. Lucian laughed at her facial expression. ""Relax Sophia, ...Did I say something wrong?" It occurred to her that he was teasing. Seriously, this man is impossible to read. A few hours ago he was angry and sarcastic. And then he could be kind and even apologize for his behavior. But right now, he's teasing me! " I'm not joking though ." he said in a serious tone. Nanatili na nakaupo silang dalawa. " Where is ..your..wife? " she can't help herself. Hindi na Niya napigilang magtanong. Biyudo ba itong kaharap niya? Now, she understands kung bakit kailangan nito ng maraming kasama. Maliban sa yaya, tutor kailangan pang may personal alalay at siya nga ito. Kulang ito sa pangangalaga ng isang ina. Siguro laging out of town o kaya nasa business trip itong ama ng bata. Judging by the suit he's still wearing.. ni hindi ito nakapagpalit ng suot. The aura of this man speaks business and authority. He laughed again. He eyed her thoroughly. "You amused me, Sophia.' nakangiti ito. And when he smiles , she blinks ..her heart races! Bakit ba parang lumulundag ang puso niya sa simpling smile lang nito. Bakit parang nag ba blush kaagad siya. I felt so weird, I shouldn't be feeling this way , kaya ako nandito para makalimot sa Isang lalaking taksil. Pero bakit parang affected ako sa mga titig nito and the way he smiled.. oh jeez,,, I hate myself! " Why,? you said your daughter ..Lileth , needs a friend and a wife." she retorted. Kumunot ang noo ni Lucian, he's still wearing that charismatic smile though. Umiling ito. " I don't remember telling you that I have a wife ,..nor did I tell you that Lileth is my daughter." he said matter-of-factly. " We met first, you did not meet any of my family to tell you lies ,so.. my only guess is ..you assume things right?" I get that you're young, but not..." "....stupid." she cut him off.
