"Excuse me miss," Ella tapped her on the shoulder.
Naomi turned her head to the side and gave her an arrogant look as if she were looking down at a filthy bug in the mud. She eyed the shoulder that was touched by Ella and brushed it off. Ella was mildly offended by that act. Who was she acting all high and mighty for?
"Yes?" Naomi turned to face her completely with a fake smile that was too sweet to be believable.
Ella ignored it and said, "I came here first to get an appointment on Friday."
"So?"
"So? You booked all the slots! How am I supposed to get an appointment now?"
Naomi appeared in deep thought for a few seconds. By then, Vienna had also come to join her.
Vienna did not interfere before when she was talking to the staff as her own choice was her own choice and Vienna wasn't someone qualified to tell her what to do with her money.
But if someone was there to pick a fight with Miss, then Vienna would be standing right there, ready to take the lead to defend her.
"Miss, is there a problem?" Vienna asked Naomi. Naomi shook her head with a small frown.
"I did book the slots and so what? If you want an appointment so desperately, then get it for another day," Naomi said seriously, "This place has a first come first serve policy. Since I made an appointment, it won't be changed. Deal with it."
"I will not deal with it!" Ella showed her iconic stubbornness. Naomi's shoulder was brushed as Ella passed by to stand before the desk and demand an open slot even if they had to cancel an appointment. She had the money for it.
Naomi chuckled. She couldn't believe that this stubbornness was once so cool in her eyes. Every time Ella went up to pick a fight or demand something, Naomi used to think she had the guts to do it and was very brave.
Naomi couldn't do that for a long time. The only reason she had to gain confidence was in her position as Luna in the pack. No one would take her seriously if she did not show that confident face while talking. Surprisingly enough, Naomi just realised that her own mate wouldn't take her seriously before she had gained enough confidence to speak up about it.
It was astonishing how some things change the way others see you. Their behaviour changes according to how you treat yourself.
Naomi always saw herself as someone lower than Ella, but it was only in her head. On the outside, they were a match that was only a few points short of being soulmates. That was the level of friendship they had achieved.
But funny how things change within a few nights.
"Lady, if you have the money, then buy it," Naomi said sarcastically, "But where are you going to buy class and elegance from? Money can't buy that. You look like a cheap mom who is in desperate need of a break from her kids and wants to create a scene in public to please herself."
Ella was successfully infuriated by her words. She scoffed in disbelief. She couldn't believe that someone as delicate as this girl dared to speak up like this!
"Ma'am, it's time for your appointment," a staff member came up to Naomi and informed her. Naomi nodded and followed her, ignoring the fiery expression on Ella's face.
It was true that Naomi did all of this intentionally. She booked everything to test Ella's patience and also said those things to relieve the fire in her heart. It wasn't enough. She needed to see them burnt to the ground. Only then would she be satisfied. But for now, Naomi was pacified.
Naomi was pleased with this encounter because it showed that she wasn't afraid to encounter her past anymore. If she happened to see them, she was fully capable of standing up and stomping on them.
Vienna was a step behind Naomi. She found that the Miss was smiling pleasantly even after the rude encounter.
"Are you feeling alright?" Vienna asked. Naomi glanced back for a second and nodded.
"Yes. I feel fantastic. Why do you ask?"
"Usually you are not in a good mood after scenes like these. So I was worried."
Naomi then remembered how fragile Juliette was. Not only physically, but emotionally as well. A loud tone would get her to hide in a shell. But that Juliette was gone. Naomi had seen worse things. A yelling woman was least of her concerns.
"No. Those things don't bother me anymore," Naomi held Vienna's hand and squeezed it, "You know that I have decided to change for the better. I want to be a strong person who isn't scared of anything."
Vienna nodded happily, "Yes. Miss is already so strong."
"Less get the massage done, shall we?" Naomi placed her bag and accessories in the provided basket and went to change.
The massage was top notch. Naomi did not know her body had so many muscle groups until the masseur pressed them to relieve the tension.
"Your muscles are very stiff, ma'am. Please relax your body." The masseur said. Naomi also knew she was still there. This body was weak as well. If Naomi wasn't stiff, she was afraid that the body would crumble into skin and bones.
After the massage, Naomi felt like a new person. She experienced the best day of her two lives today.
Vienna was also very happy that she was brought there! She wouldn't stop talking about the experience to Naomi. When they got into the car, Naomi's phone chimed. She looked down to see the message from the party planner.
Planner : I have accidentally misplaced the guest list. Can you send it to me again? Sorry for the inconvenience.
Naomi sent back : That's no problem. I will send it to you in a couple of hours.
The planner responded positively. Naomi had a picture of the guest list in the gallery as a back up but she did not want to bother with it right now. They had a movie scheduled right now. She would do it later.
However, as they drove towards the theatre, an idea popped into her mind. She forwarded the picture to the planner with a message.
"I had a backup with me. Also, add another guest couple to the list. Raymond Westmound and Ella Hudson from the Everridge pack."
