Chapter Twelve

2011 Words
“So, we did learn at lot from the vampires.” I told Grayson as we walked away from the prison “Yeah, I'm sending the wolves in to kill them later.” I stopped. “Excuse me?” I asked. “I'm killing the vampires.” “Why?” “Because they're vampires.” “But I promised that as long as they helped us that you wouldn’t hurt them!” “That wasn’t my promise and I didn't agree to any of it. They are vampires and I can't let them go!” “What do you mean?! I thought that I had a part in this! You are going to kill them even though they gave you information willingly? They didn't even struggle!” I growled. He could not be serious. “Lana, I can't let all the vampires go that help us just because they helped us.” He said. “They are vampires, our enemy.” “So, if I wasn’t helping you would you kill me? If I wasn’t your mate I would be dead by now, correct?” I asked. “I…” I laughed humorlessly. “You kill those vampires and you see what will happen.” I said, before storming off. I was so pissed at him, they helped us! He was not going to kill them. I went to find Liam to tell him. I found him sitting alone near a house. “What's up?” “Isla’s showering and she's forbidden me to go with her.” He said with a smile. “Yeah, well Grayson wants to kill those vampires.” “After they helped us so easily?!” “That’s exactly how I feel! They helped us when they could have just kept quiet; I am not going to let him kill them! I mean this is ridiculous!” “Go talk to him, because talking to me isn’t going to do a thing, Lana and you know that. You have to go talk to him.” I sighed, nodded, and then went to find Grayson talking to Alpha Sam. “Grayson, I need to talk to you.” I told him. “It can wait.” Sam said, glaring at me. “Excuse me, it can not wait. As his mate whatever I say goes above whatever you say so why don't you shut your mouth and run along mutt.” I growled. I was already pissed off and Sam giving me attitude was not helping me control my temper. “This is my pack and you can't treat me like this!” He growled back. I opened my mouth to say something but Grayson beat me to it. “And she is my mate and you can in no way treat her like that. She is correct, whatever she has to say is more important than what you have to say, so if you'll excuse me.” Grayson turned and walked away, I followed but not before sticking my tongue out at Sam. “So, what is it you wish to talk about?” “What do you think? I do not want you to kill those vampires, it is not fair! They helped us and they shouldn’t be punished for it.” “So, what? Am I just supposed to save every vampire that helps me? I would have too many enemies in my town! Lana, you are being irrational!” “No, you're being irrational! Those vampires helped us when they could have let you kill them like a was prepared to do! They deserve something for that, and they both seem very willing to work with us, so why won't you let them? What would be so wrong with having a vampire spy?” “Because they are the enemy?” “Then what am I? No, wonder my kind things that you are savages! Because you won't let someone live who helped you!” He turned on me and growled. “Tell me, Lana, if it were my kind, if they had helped you, would you let them live?” “Of course! If they had helped, I would not let anyone kill them! Why would I?” He pinched the bridge of his nose and he took a deep breath. “I am not letting them live, and that is that.” He said, trying his Alpha voice on me. “Then I'm done helping you.” I said, crossing my arms. “What do you mean?” “If you kill them, it’s over. I won't help you anymore, I won't even talk to you anymore and I am completely serious.” “You're bluffing.” “No, I'm not. If you kill even one of them then you might as well kill me too because I will become complete useless.” “Lana, I would never kill you.” He went to touch my cheek but I pulled away. “I am serious.” I told him. “Fine, I'll think about it.” “Whatever, where are the blood bags?” I asked him. “They're being kept at Dr. Michael’s place.” “Dr. Michael? Is he the pack doctor?” He nodded. “Well, I'm going to get some blood and you think about your decision.” I said, while turning my back to him and walking away. I went straight for the blood, finding it quickly and draining the back. The blood was being held in a container full of ice but I was curious how it was staying cold until I thought of Maya, she must be cooling it for Liam and me. I blew a breath of cold air and then shut the container. I decided to go shower while I waited until Grayson came to me with his decision. Finding the shower was easy, because their water was much closer than Grayson, though theirs was not as large and did not hide my body as much as Grayson’s. I undressed and slipped into the waterfall, washing my body. I was moving onto my hair when I heard someone in the woods next to me. “You have got to be kidding me.” I said, looking over to see a tall man in the woods. “I swear Grayson; if that’s you I am going to beat you senseless.” And out stepped Sam, looking me up and down. I quickly covered my body. “What the hell do you want?” “Just came to check out the view.” He said, with a big smirk. “Excuse me, can't you go somewhere else?” I asked, glaring at him. “I could, but the view isn’t quite as nice.” Seriously? This guy hates me and he is checking me out. “I would appreciate if you went elsewhere. This body is not yours to look at and if you keep looking I will make you hurt.” “Whatever, I have enough mental images to get by.” He said before turning around, I shuddered and quickly finished my showering. I went looking for Grayson, to tell him about Sam but I could not seem to find him anywhere. I got suspicious when I could not find him so I headed down to the prison, just in case. I walked downstairs and walked right into Grayson snapping Derek’s neck and Sam cutting off Simon’s head. I felt the room begin to shake as my anger began to boil inside me. “Are you f*****g kidding me?!” I screamed and the doors flung off the cells. “Lana, calm down.” Grayson said, coming towards me. “Don't you dare tell me to calm down; you went behind my back and killed them! I am so done, helping all of you! I am done talking to you; I am done with all of you! There was no reason to kill them!” I moved the doors, so I was blocking Grayson, Sam and the other wolves from the exit and I jammed the doors. “Go to hell.” I told both of them and then I stormed out, going to Sam’s house and stealing a map. I took off, not caring where I was going, just that I was getting away. I wondered for hours, knowing that I was just going to end up back at Grayson’s village, but when I stumbled into a clearing, it was not werewolves I saw, but vampires. “Who the hell are you?” One of them growled. “She smells like the wolves.” Another one says. “Let’s bring her to him, see what he says.” “You won't be bringing me anywhere, trust me.” I smirked. They went move towards me but I stopped them mentally, man had I missed that. “You're Lana!” One of them gasped. “Oh really?” I laughed. “Lana?” Cain asked coming out of his tent. “Where have you been?!” He asked, pulling me into a hug. “You wouldn’t believe what I have been through.” “Liam’s missing now.” He said hugging me tighter. “I know, he was with me and so was Maya.” “Where have you been?” He asked again. “Everyone has been looking for you, you just vanished.” “Let’s go somewhere more private to have this conversation.” I told him. “Yeah, sure.” He brought me to his tent and I sat down. I could not believe that I had stumbled upon Cain’s camp when every other time I left Grayson I ended up doing circles. “Ok, where do I begin? The day you left to go meet the wolves, they came here telling me it was a ruse and that they were there for me. They poisoned me with wolf blood and then kidnapped me, the tried to get me to work for them but I refused so they kept me off blood for six days, and with being poisoned, I lost blood faster, and they nearly killed me before I agreed to help them. I didn't want to…but then something happened…Liam met his mate…so did Maya…and so did I…” “Wait, you met you're mate? Like the werewolf term?” I nodded. “And he’s the head alpha of Lupus Sanguine.” “Oh, that’s awesome; we can use you against him.” “I'm not some weapon! I am so tired of people using me as a weapon!” “You're right, Lana, I'm sorry it’s just we aren’t winning right now.” “Wait, the vampires are losing?” “Well, we weren’t expecting so many wolves…but yes we are losing. All we have to rely on is Charles’ Crimson Night plan.” “The wolves know about it.” I told him. “How?” “They captured a few prisoners, and they spilled the beans and then the werewolves killed them, even though the vampires helped them…” I growled. “You left, didn't you? And that’s why, right?” “Yeah…they aren’t as bad as you think…at least I thought they weren’t. They seemed civil enough and I think that we could save lives if we all just worked together.” I said, sighing. “You do realize that I won't work like that right?” “It would be nice.” “So…where is their camp?” Cain asked and I froze.
