Seven years later
“Emmett James, you get off of your sister right now!” I yelled as he tugged on her dark locks and she screamed. Grayson came swooping in, as he usually did and picked up Emmett, swinging him in a circle. Emmet laughed aloud. “Grayson.” I sighed. “You are encouraging the behavior.” I said as Victoria wrapped her arms around my waist. I wanted to lift her up, but she would have not rested well on my hips, seeing as my stomach was swollen.
“You expect me to stay mad at this?” He asked, turning Emmett to look at me, showing how much he looked like Grayson. His hair was thick and curly, dark brown with a tint of red, and his dark brown eyes were hidden by thick lashes.
“I expect you to discipline you son for picking on his little sister.” I sighed, looking at my husband.
“Metty, say sorry for picking on Ria.”
“But Daddy! Ria said girls are better than boys!” Grayson chuckled.
“Well it’s trew!” Ria said, glaring at her brother. Metty was six, and Ria was a close five. “I mean look at Mommy! She’s awesome.” I laughed, looking at my daughter’s head, which was covered in dark, thick curls. She had my eyes.
“Mett, you will learn that what you sister says is true, girls are better than boys, just don't let the girls know that.” Mett scrambled out of Grayson’s arms and then chased his sister out of the house. I would have been concerned, if I didn't know we lived in a neighbor that would die for my kids. The wolves surrounding us were all part of Grayson’s main pack.
Vampires and Werewolves were still not equal, but they were close. Werewolves lived in tight communities, and even some trusted vampires lived with them. There was still some hate, but it was a great improve from years ago.
“So, you know what s*x our baby is yet?” Grayson said, resting his hand on my swollen stomach. He kissed my lips, still sending sparks everywhere.
“I do.”
“Are you going to tell me?”
“Do I ever?”
“No.” He chuckled. “I have to go soon.” He sighed, looking at the clock. “I don't want to…I wish we could spend more time together. I feel like I pulled between the kids, working things out with Charles, and working things out with other wolves. I feel like we have no time.”
“Any time is enough.” I smiled, and I knew it was true. I loved Grayson like no other, and anytime was enough for me, but it was also not near as much as I wanted. I wanted every moment he could offer.
“We’re done after this one, right?” Grayson smiled, kissing my belly. “I don’t think I could handle four, especially if I have more girls. I am already beating the boys off Ria.” I smirked. If he knew we were having twins, he would flip. Especially if he found out one of them was a girl.
“Go to work, Gray.” I smiled. “Say hi to Elysia if you see here, I haven't seen her in a while and I miss her.” Elysia and I kept in contact over the years. It was originally because she was the only reason Maya didn't kill me, because she had been the large cat that stopped Maya’s assault. Elysia come out with her species after the wolves were accepted.
“Will do, honey.” He kissed me once more before he headed out the door. I watched him walk away, my eyes locking on his perfect butt. “Stop staring, Lana.” He laughed.
“Hey, I own that now.” I laughed. He shook his head before leaving the house. I missed him the moment he left the room. “Emmett! Get your sister and come inside!” I yelled, but I knew they wouldn’t listen; they usually played outside for hours. Both of them had the characteristics of vampires and werewolves, which made me wonder if they were going to be like Maya. Although I could read their minds, maybe it was because they were my children.
It was strange, having children, but I loved them beyond compare.
My house was small compared to the castle, but then again everything was. It was a nice two-story house, with five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It was the perfect house to settle down in. In all honesty, I never thought I would be so happy with settling down, but this was perfect.
“You should really lock your door.” A voice said behind me. I knew who it was before he said anything, so I didn't even flinch from watching my children running around in the yard. Emmett went to tackled Victoria but she feinted to the right and grabbed him by the legs. I hoped that they would always stay this close.
“What do you want, Charles?” I asked, finally looking at him. “Aren’t you supposed to be at the castle, waiting for Grayson?”
“I wanted to see you…this is the first time I have had a chance to talk to you since the battle.”
“You had chances; you just chose not to take them.”
“What did you expect, Lana? I offered you everything, and you still chose him.”
“I loved him…more than anything. I just realized that a little late.”
“What are you going to do, when he dies?” I glared at him.
“I would appreciate if you would not bring that up. I will deal with it when the time comes, for right now I am going to live in the moment.”
“They're beautiful.” He said, looking at Metty and Ria. “They take after you.”
“Emmett looks more like Grayson.” He looked at my stomach.
“Expecting another?”
“Something like that.” I smiled.
“Can I ask a favor from you? Well, actually a few…”
“What?”
“How are Liam and Maya?”
“Is that one of the favors?” He nodded. “They're good. Isla is expecting her first at the end of the month, and Maya is making Michael wait to have kids until who knows when. Are they still not talking to you?” Charles shook his head.
“I won't even get to meet my brother’s first child…all because I didn't try a treaty first! Damn, I wish I could go back and fix everything!”
“You can't, but you should go and visit them…I would suggest Maya first because Isla is very temperamental right now.”
“I can't…” He sighed. “I have to go…so hi to them, will you?” I nodded. “Oh, and one more thing.”
“Yes?”
“Can…can this be water under the bridge? Can there be no grudges?”
“Of course.” I smiled as Ria ran into the house. She wrapped her arms around my leg.
“Mommy! Metty rubbed dirt in my hair!” She cried. I looked back up and Charles was gone.
“Come on baby; let’s get this dirt out of you hair, even though you look beautiful with it.”
“Weally? I look pretty?” She smiled.
“You always look pretty.”
“Will I look as pretty as you when I grow up, mommy?”
“You will look much prettier.” I smiled as she took my hand and I led her to the bathroom. I couldn’t be happier.
