The Playboy Bully
***JASMINE'S POV*** I was in the hallway when I saw Sean. "Hey, Jasmine," Sean said as he walked up to me in the hallway. I could feel the eyes of my friends on me, waiting to see how I would react. I tried to appear unruffled, but inside I was panicking. "What do you want?" I asked, my voice cool and detached. I knew I had to act strong, even if I was crumbling inside. "I just wanted to ask you something," he replied, his voice low. I could see a hunger in his eyes, a need that made my skin crawl. "What is it?" I asked, trying to sound uninterested. But deep down, I was curious. What could he possibly want to ask me? "I was wondering if you would be my woman," he said, his voice steady. I could see the seriousness in his eyes, the way he was staring at me like I was his prey. It made my stomach churn. I looked at him in disbelief. "You can't be serious, we barely know each other." " No, I'm not interested in being your woman. I don't know you, and I'm not interested in getting to know you better. I'm not interested in anything you have to offer." I added firmly. Sean's face fell, and I could see the disappointment in his eyes. But I wasn't going to back down. I knew I had to stand my ground, even if it made him upset. As a bad boy playboy in school, Sean must be baffled to be rejected by a nerd girl like me. From the next day, Sean started following me around the school, trying to get my attention. He would make small talk with me in the hallways, trying to make me laugh. He would even bring me small gifts, like flowers or chocolates. I knew he was trying to woo me, but I wasn't interested. I tried to ignore him, but he wouldn't give up. "Come on, Jasmine," he urged, following me to my locker. "Just give me a chance. I know we could be good together." I could feel my patience wearing thin. Sean started showing up at my seat in class, telling me jokes and trying to make me laugh. But I wasn't interested. No matter what he did, I wasn't going to be swayed. I was determined to stay strong. But then one night, when we went for our evening tutorial, he showed up holding a bottle of wine and asked me to join him for a drink at the school garden after the tutorial. I hesitated, but then I agreed. I figured that if I gave him a chance to talk, maybe he would get the hint and give up. As we sat out on the bench, the cold air making me to shiver, Sean drew closer to me and wanted to plant a kiss on my lips. "Woah, woah. Don't you dare." I warned. "Why not give me a chance?" He asked. "I'm not interested, stop pestering me." I warned again and I walked out on him. The next day at school, Sean was different. He started teasing me, making fun of me in front of my friends. He would make jokes at my expense, laughing and pointing at me. I could feel the eyes of my friends on me, and I felt humiliated. I tried to ignore him, but he wouldn't stop. "What's the matter, Jasmine?" he asked, a smirk on his face. "Don't you like my jokes?" I felt my face flush with anger. Just then, the teacher came in and began the last class for the day, and I tried my best to focus on what he was saying. Sean was seriously starring at me. I could feel his eyes on me, and it made me even more uncomfortable than I already was. I tried to ignore him, focusing on my notes and trying to take in what the teacher was saying. But then, he raised his hand. "Mr. Williams," he said. "I have a question about the lesson." "Yes, Sean?" the teacher respond, turning to him. "I'm not sure I understand the difference between a protist and a fungus," Sean said, his eyes fixed on me. "Could you please explain it again?" I could feel my face burning as everyone turned to look at me. I knew he was just trying to make me feel uncomfortable, and it was working. "Of course, Sean," the teacher replied. "I'll try to explain it in more detail this time." I tried to focus on what he was saying, but I couldn't stop thinking about how Sean had singled me out. Sean was the kind of guy who thought he was untouchable. He was popular, good-looking, and had a reputation for being a bit of a playboy bad boy. But what he didn't know was that I was smarter than him. And I was going to prove it. As the teacher continued to talk about protists and fungi, I raised my hand. "I have a question, Mr. Williams," I said. "Yes, Jasmine?" the teacher replied, looking at me with a smile."If a protist is a unicellular organism, but fungi are made up of filaments of hyphae, which are essentially many cells joined together, does that mean that fungi aren't actually single-celled?" I asked, my voice shaking slightly. The teacher's eyes widened, and I could tell he was impressed. "That's a very astute observation, Jasmine," he replied. "In fact, you're absolutely right. Fungi are not considered to be unicellular organisms, even though their individual cells are microscopic." Throughout the rest of the day, I could feel Sean's eyes on me, burning a hole in the back of my head. He was clearly not happy that I had shown him up in class. But I didn't care. I had proven that I was just as smart as him, if not smarter. The final bell rang, and I quickly gathered my things and rushed out the door. I just wanted to get home and put this day behind me. But as I turned the corner, I ran straight into Sean. "Hey there, nerd girl," Sean called out, a sneer on his face. "You think you're pretty smart, don't you?" I clenched my fists at my side, trying to control my anger. "I'm smart enough to know that you're a bully," I replied, my voice steady. "And I'm not going to put up with it." He laughed, a cruel, mocking laugh. "Oh, you think you're tough, huh? Let's see how tough you are." I felt a surge of fear, but I stood my ground. Suddenly, the hallway went quiet. Everyone was watching us, waiting to see what would happen next. The tension was thick in the air, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. But I wasn't going to back down. I wasn't going to let him bully me anymore. "What are you waiting for?" I asked, my voice trembling only slightly. "Go on, do your worst." I urged. But what happened next was the last thing I expected.
