ORPHEUS - A.I.

Megan took a while to realise that everything she was seeing in front of her eyes was indeed a hallucination. Her head hurt a bit and she had a slight ringing in her ears. As she came to her senses, she began to realise that she was not a captive in a dark cell anymore but in an open field with tall grass and a huge forest up ahead .She looked at her left arm- it hurt badly. She noticed that there were three tiny needle marks. "I must have been injected with some sort of hallucinogen ... which explains the blurry visions...but when? Why can't I remember anything..." , she thought trying hard to recall her activities of the past twenty four hours. She sat down on the soft grass, closed her eyes and grabbed her head trying to recount her steps. She started having flashes of a dark room, a low humming sound and a cold floor ... that's all she could remember. She tried again but her head started hurting more so she gave up. She took her phone out from her pocket- no signal! She clicked open the compass application and the arrows started to show the directions. In the north there lay a dense forest and beyond that ,there were huge mountains towering over the trees. To the east and west all she could she was only green grass. She was in the middle of a huge green field with no idea of her previous whereabouts, wondering what to do next.She checked the time- it was 5:30 a.m... Her cell phone began to vibrate "Weird ! " she thought trying to stand up. There was a notification-she clicked - "Orpheus activated. Get to the nearest camp and await further instructions." "This is gotta be a joke ! " she thought. "This can't be real..." She soon realised that her worst fears have come true. Things she thought were only fictional were now turning into reality- a horrifying reality. She saw a red light, far away towards the east gleaming - the project has been initiated- the Game is on...
