Chapter 8: Nothing, huh?

2005 Words
Tracy’s POV Yawn* “What’s wrong? Did you not sleep well?” My mom asked, to which I barely managed a response. Honestly, I just hoped to sleep again, but I have classes too. Though the main reason was to confront Lester about… you know… however, I’m starting to have second thoughts now. It’s not like I can just stop him and say, “Did you feel me up when I was sleeping?” God! That’s even more embarrassing. What if it’s not the reality? He would feel that I’m suggesting it. No, what if he thinks I’m a huge perv and thinks about him in other ways? Damn, what to do? “Um, Tracy, if you want you can skip your classes today.” My eyes lifted in blessing as I glanced at mom who was smiling at me mysteriously. “Really? Can I do that?” I asked hopefully, to which she nodded and giggled. “Like her dad.” She mumbled and my smile dropped. I know my mom admired my dad a lot. However, my dad couldn’t feel the same, so in the end they decided to go different ways. I was twelve years old then and have been living with my mom. It’s not like my dad didn’t want me, but I can’t seem to leave my mom. Now that she mentioned it, I remembered that my dad’s going to remarry tomorrow. He even called me multiple times asking about my presence there. However, I don’t feel confident. I’m scared that it might upset mom. “By the way, Ray called me many times and even visited me a couple of days ago.” My mom placed her coffee mug as she smiled softly at my bewildered face. “What did he say?” I asked, unconsciously reaching out for her cup. She smacked my hand and pointed to the other coffee mug that was set beside me. I paid no attention as I reached for my coffee mug, sipping in deep nervousness. “He told me about his marriage and that you’re answering your calls. Ray personally came to seek permission to get you even if he didn't have to do that since you’re nearing nineteen.” She said and I glared at her. “Mom! You know I wouldn’t go anywhere if you don’t want me to.” I informed her and she gave me a ‘are you crazy’ look. “Hon, he is your dad! You shouldn’t hurt him in order to please one of your parents.” She explained and my face twisted in distaste at her words. As if I want to… “I have already met her fiancée and she seems a good lady. She has a girl a little younger than you. Ray is extremely happy and I don’t mind it at all. I promise.” She replied soothingly and my eyes welled up. “So, you want me to go?” I asked, to which she shook her head. As expected, I was slightly hurt. “We are going together!” She replied with a big smile that threw me off-guard. “A-are you serious?” I asked, to which she nodded and I jumped over to hug her tightly. “Thanks mom!” I screamed and heard her laugh. “He even wants you to walk him down the aisle!” She rolled her eyes and I cracked up at that. “That’s dad for you!” I laughed and felt overjoyed hearing this. “Anyways, let’s go shopping. We cannot let the fortune your father sent to me go to waste, right?” She wiggled her eyebrows and I gasped at her new personality. “You’re clever!” I muttered, to which she winked and we enjoyed our coffee in peace. I can’t believe I was tired a while ago and now bouncing with energy. This is the fourth exclusive shop and I was still in the middle of choosing a dress for me. My mom was lucky to find her dress almost immediately. However, we are planning to buy two more dresses for her, just in case. “I’ll try this one out—” my words died in my mouth when I spotted a brooding figure standing behind my mom. “What?” my mom asked worriedly before she glanced over her shoulders. “Oh my god! Lester, right? What a co-incidence?” It was clear as to how my mom was pleased to see him. But it wasn’t the same for me. His predatory glances made me shrink inwardly. I cannot help but recall the early morning incident. It’s as if he can see right past me. Why is he angry? “What are you doing here?” I asked and their eyes turned to me. Mom looked surprised, while Lester seemed amused. “What’s with that tone, Tracy?” My mom breathed her words but I cared less. Lester gave me an overall and smirked, as if he knew what his presence was doing to me. “Strolling around!” He answered casually and I thought that he wanted to say more. Suddenly, another person dashed in and my cheeks tainted red seeing it was Vincent. “Oooooooo—hiiiii!” Vincent’s eyes darted from me to Lester in a playful manner before settling on to my mom. “Pardon my manners, Miss. I’m Vincent, Lester’s big brother.” He said and flashed his famous charming smile that made my mom blush. They shook hands and I cursed under my breath when she exchanged a meaningful glance at my way. Uh-eh! Not again! As if there was some sort of connection between the two, my mom and Vincent started laughing together. “Oh dear. I think we should go check that section out.” My mom grabbed Vincent’s arm and they left hurriedly. Before I could call out to her, Lester grabbed my forearm and frowned. I know nothing about what got him thinking so hard. “Um… I-I should try this out.” I mumbled an excuse and started to brush him off, but his state intensified. Uncomfortable- The moment was oppressive and I felt chills from his cold hands. My mind was already a mess and his presence just reminded me of the weird incident this morning. Hence, I couldn’t hold it in and sighed loudly to relieve myself. “What’s your problem? Did you even listen to me now?” I asked, to which he gritted his teeth and let go of me. “I wanted to ask the same. What’s your problem?” he questioned, making my jaw drop in disbelief. “Really?” Unbelievable! Lester just shrugged and I hated how cool he looked even without trying. I needed to focus more on the matter at hand than get distracted by his unattempted coolness. “Alright! Let me come straight to the point.” Taking a deep breath, I decided to confront him. “Did you sneak into my room early this morning?” I asked, too scared and nervous to learn his answer. However, Lester’s eyebrows frowned and he clicked his tongue in annoyance. He removed his hands from the tight grip across his chest and raked his fingers through his hair before giving me judgmental glances. “No!” My mind went blank at his straight-forwardness. There was no doubt that he was saying the truth. However, that made me regret my idiotic decision. “O-Okay!” I muttered and dashed towards the changing room when he immediately blocked my path. I was bewildered by his inhumane speed. This was next to impossible. Lester could see the question in my eyes while I hesitantly glanced around to find even one soul other than me who might have witnessed this as well. Nonetheless, he cleared his throat and asked, “Why didn’t you go to attend your classes?” Baffled, I raised my eyebrows at him. “Heh, as if you are one to ask.” I pushed him off but he caged me between the trail room’s wall and his body. My breath itched as he glared at me intently. Somehow, my body remembered too much. It started to heat up in anticipation of our situation. I felt he would swallow me up with those mysterious cold and deep silver eyes. Lester licked his lips and I gulped hard as I followed its movement when— “Ahem! May I be excused?” Mom!!! I pushed Lester off and covered my face in both hands as I cursed myself under my breath. Dammit! “Of course, Sam. You needn’t ask them.” Vincent replied to my mom and I was flustered enough to not let the shock of hearing him call my mom ‘Sam’ affect me. Mom laughed and walked towards us, hooking her arm around mine. “As much as I would have loved to give you guys your freedom, I’m sorry I cannot.” She might be addressing Lester and I wondered what his reaction was. “That’s not it mom!” I complained and sneaked a peek at Lester. He was shamelessly gawking at me, surely to confirm my mom’s bizarre ideas. I quickly lowered my eyes when he finally decided to acknowledge my mom. “What’s the hurry, Ms. Samantha?” God! They are already using her first name. “Oh, she didn’t mention it to anyone, I see. Actually, her dad’s going to get married tomorrow. So we need to leave right away.” My mom replied and suddenly Lester’s face turned really scary looking. Noticing this, my mom shared a glance with Vincent and me, awkwardly smiling. I frowned at him and watched as Vincent grabbed his elbow before laughing cheerfully. “That’s nice. You should take your leave then.” Vincent then congratulated him, while Lester seemed highly angry about something. There were numerous questions running inside my head that I didn’t see him stride my way. “May I?” It didn’t register inside my head to whom Lester was asking. However, I gasped when he turned me around and questioningly interlocked his eyes with mine. I squirmed under his hard gaze. It was as if he was trying to ask something. Though, this trance lived short when he grabbed my face and leaned down— His lips overlapped mine before assaulting them until I responded. I might have lost my mind to this passionate sudden kiss when I responded back in less than four seconds. I totally turned insane when his cold lips marvelously devoured my soft lips and molded them as he pleased. It didn’t leave an ounce of shame inside me, forgetting that my mom was right there staring at us with a flabbergasted expression on her face. I trembled as his big hand traveled from my neck to my spine till it’s last bone. A moan dissolved when he pressed my lower back in a sensual manner, slowly letting go of my lips. It was too much for me to handle. My eyes were shut as I could feel the heart drum inside my ears, loudly enough. Finally, when Lester’s hands detached from me completely, it was when I returned to reality. I felt like digging up a hole and burying myself in it when I saw my mom’s bright red face. Vincent cleared his throat awkwardly and smiled innocently, to dissolve this heavy embarrassment and unasked questions in the air between us. “Okay then! See you soon, ladies. Have a wonderful time.” Vincent pulled Lester along as he slightly bowed as a goodbye to my mom. We were completely taken aback by Lester’s sudden change in behavior. It seemed like he was from some royal family with that gesture. However, my thoughts froze when my mom teasingly smirked at me. “That’s not it!” She mimicked me and my ears turned red. God! That’s embarrassing… Lester! I’m going to kill you…
