A heavy silence fell upon us as we waited for the food. I cleverly kept my eyes away from Alpha Noah for some time, watching the kids at the next table play among themselves while their parents had their lunch.
Much to my dismay, Mera cleared her throat suddenly and I knew she was about to spoil our silence.
"What are your plans for the rest of the day, Alpha?" She asked with a wide smile on her lips. It amazes me that her cheeks hadn't started hurting yet from all the smiling she had done for today.
I have never seen her smile this much since I came back here.
"Beta Kade and I will attend a meeting with the neighboring Alpha" Alpha Noah answered Mera's question offhandedly.
"I see" Mera sighed, "It will be nice if you two can accompany us for the rest of the day"
