Chapter 3 Kirk eased out of bed, being careful not to wake the twink he’d spent the night with. The whole ‘morning after’ deal was not his thing, if he could help it. Dressing quietly, he left the guy’s apartment, shoes in hand—putting them on in the elevator. It was early, only six in the morning, which gave him time to stop for breakfast before going home to get ready for work. Before he went into the restaurant he got a paper from the news box outside. He was halfway through his meal, reading the paper between bites, when a story on an inside page caught his eye. The headline said, ‘Man Murdered in Elevator’.
