"I saw you being all cat, it was awesome!" She said, still giggling franticly.
"Katja?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help it" She blew out and stood up "Wow, this is the most fun I've ever had"
"Even if I roared at you?"
"Yes! Why did you roar?"
"I thought you came to steal my kill"
"Oh, and why did you stop being aggressive?"
Quintin shye'd away "I, could smell, you"
Her face tilted "Smell? How do I smell?"
"Uh, well, I already smelled the cat inside you, laying dormant"
"You could?"
"Uh-huh"
"But a lion can still smell a lion, and still attack it to guard it's kill, why didn't you?"
That was a good question? Why didn't he attack her when he smelled the cat? Why did he stand down? Was it because he could see it was Katja? If so, why did he roar at her in the first place?
"I, I'm not sure"
"He he" She winked at him "I think your cat likes my cat"
"Wha? How would you know that?" He felt his cheeks warm up again but she shrugged.
"Just a thought, I could undress here and see if you respond to me more passionately?"
"Neeuu! You can't just do that!?"
Katja laughed again "Just joking, come, bring this Oryx so we can go work it"
Quintin sighed and stood up on his hind legs, she looked up at his full length and her eyes widened.
"Wow, you look even bigger that way"
He grunted smiling then picked up the Oryx bull like it was a toy "Let's go, I haven't had a proper steak in days"
"You want me to prepare some for you?"
He looked down at her but saw she had to basically run to keep up with his strides, so he picked her up by her hand and lifted her on to his shoulders, she peeped of surprise but laughed when she realised what he was doing.
"This is much better!" She said happily and looked over the dunes from her high vantage point. The dunes were a soft blue color thanks to the moon, and it was breathtaking.
Quintin reached the bunker and placed her down.
"Now, see that dead tree over there?" She said pointing to one a few yards off.
"Yeah?"
"Hang this Oryx there so long"
"Ok?"
Katja ran into the underground bunker and came out with two large square plastic buckets, and inside was a knife. Fascinated by this girl Quintin watched her start to butcher the animal, first removing the skin, then had the knife working around the intestines, but she was struggling.
"Uh, could you reach in there and dig out it's guts?"
Quintin shrilled "Dig out it's guts?"
"Yeah, that's shouldn't be a problem for you right?"
"Well, no I guess" He brought a paw down but she stopped it with her hand "Care not to puncture any of them, otherwise it's going to stink here trust me"
"You did this before haven't you?"
"Yes, with my dad in Russia"
Quintin retracted his claws and dug deep into the chest cavity, the intestines came loose and fell to the ground.
"Good, now the last part" She said and started cutting the meat off the bones in ribbons and steak sized chunks, then tossing them in the plastic buckets. She jammed the knife into the ribcage and attempted to cut them off, this was to tough for her, she looked at him with angst making him laugh and spring a claw.
"Let me get that" He dug the claw into the bone and with his immense strength broke the ribcage from the spine, then broke the ribs the self from each other. He saw Katja shrill.
"That was brutal"
When the entire Oryx was worked Quintin picked up the two buckets full of meat and they headed back to the labs. Katja went down but realised Quintin would have a hard time getting in, she turned at the steel door and watched him as he came down sideways. She opened the door and stood back, Quintin slid the two buckets in then went down on his side, sliding into the door that way. Katja couldn't help laughing at him.
"I'll get the meat on ice so long, see ya in the kitchen" She said pushing the two buckets on the slippery floor and disappeared into the kitchen not far off in the hall.
Quintin watched his situation, he wasn't stuck but there was no gripping spots so he had to slide in using an arm, but his fur slid on the tiles.
"Crap! Come on man!" He pulled hard making only small progress, finally he turned on his back and rolled over backwards but hitting the ceiling with his paws and got semi stuck there "Oh come on!"
Behind him he heard Katja laugh again "Are you ok?"
He balled himself up and finished the roll "Yes I'm ok" He said embarrassed.
"Good, come I'm preparing some meat for you and the doctor"
Quintin could smell the food without her even saying "It smells great!"
"I was a cook on the cruise ship, I know a thing or two" She bragged coming in behind the stove again. Quintin found it easier to slip into the kitchen and sat down on the floor.
"Is it true what they say? You don't get fat cooks on a cruise ship?" He joked remembering someone said it to him.
She turned to him and held her hands open "Well?"
He turned away, not wanting to make it obvious that he was actually already staring at her in those tight jeans.
"Guess you're tight, I mean right!"
She laughed "Were you watching my ass!?"
"No, not really"
"Not really hey?"
"Ok, maybe I sneaked a peek" He said scratching his cheek.
"That's ok, I still owe you" She said turning back to the stove and continued with the food.
"Owe me?"
She looked over her shoulder, there was a flush of red on her face "I snuck a peek in as well, when you dropped your pants, teehee"
Quintin didn't know if he should be embarrassed or not, he only hung his ears.
"Oh, come on Quintin, I didn't do it on purpose, you dropped your pants so quickly I didn't get time to look away that's all"
"Oh"
