16: Brown Hyena and the Alpha's

Nina trotted as fast as she dared go, running might cause her to miss something in the bush, truth is, although she's disguised as a normal brown hyena, being seen by the wrong individual could cause trouble, brown hyenas are normally nocturnal animals, and it would throw up flags if she's seen running around during day time.

She decided to go for the most difficult first, the Black clan, their alpha male and female was Michael and Dianne. Though the Diphiri clan's hyenas were big and strong, and had sheer numbers on their side, the Black clan had the most strength per wolf, them and the Fenrir's, so even if their numbers weren't great, they were formidable.

Nina shrilled, Michael himself was a huge wolf, standing well above any other wolf she has ever seen. The Black clan having a dark black fur, and red eyes, were the closest thing to how humans described a werewolf in stories, unpredictable, furious and dangerous, sometimes killing their own members for pleasure, they even drank the blood of their kills in order to skip a trip to the watering hole.

The only wolves who came close to the Black clan in size was the fabled Blackmoon clan, native Americans, but it's said they died out many years ago.

Nina came into visual distance of the Black clan's camp and slowed down. Her courage dwindled as she approached, until she was at the entrance of the well hidden campsite. To her luck, the two she wanted to see was standing at a fire, she swallowed.

"Psst!"

Michael and Dianne both turned to the noise, they saw her and smiled "Now this isn't something you see every day, a brave brown hyena?"

"I come in peace" Nina whispered as loudly as she could, her natural being extremely in tuned to being silent.

"Peace hey?" Michael said approaching her with Dianne, Nina was scared senseless, but she stood her ground, only lowering until she was flat on her belly when they came up to her.

"I was wondering where you two clans of slobbering mutts were last night?"

"I come baring news, it's something we as the Nyathi and Diphiri hoped we could fix ourselves, but, we need your help now"

Michael frowned "What are you talking about?"

"Unfortunately, the Diphiri clan was wiped out last night"

"What!? By who!?"

"The SANDF"

Michael laughed "You know, there were warnings not to challenge them, now we know why"

"I know of the warnings, but Naledi didn't tell me why she attacked them"

"So she's still alive?"

"Yes, but she's withdrawn from the war, that's why I came to you"

"Ok hyena, I'm listening"

"It's the Anubis, they plan on wiping us all out, and without Naledi's clan, she will most definitely succeed on the next moon" By 'She' Nina referred to Cleopatra.

"I don't think so, there are only thirty of them, and combining the rest of the clans we out number them"

"You're counting only the males Michael, where are the females?"

Michael's eyes grew, she was right, he haven't seen a single female Anubis during this war so far.

"f*****g b***h Cleopatra, I knew she was a skank, but didn't know she'd play this dirty"

"So will you help?"

"How do you suppose we do it then?"

"The moon is gone for now, I'm going to go to the other packs and convince the Alpha's to meet at the border of Botswana, there by the large dam" Nina explained.

Michael nodded "Very well, you can count us in"

"Thank you, if all goes well, I will be sharing as secret only we hyenas knew, if we are to form a mutual alliance, it's only fair you knew as well"

Nina continued her quest, next up the easiest, the Del Carchetore clan, hailing from Spain, they were the calmest of all wolves, and probably the most beautiful, pure pearl white fur with bottle blue eyes, Claire was the sweetest of alpha's Nina has ever met, so much that Nina was dumbfounded by her.

"Are you lost little one?" She caught Nina by surprise as she entered the camp, but instead of being hostile, Claire was smiling, and what caught Nina even further of guard was the fact that Claire was still naked after last nights moon. Nina averted her eyes, she was stunningly beautiful, even to her as a female.

"What's wrong? You are a female aren't you? No need to be shy?"

Nina looked back at her, she was busy getting dried out meat from a rack, then brought it over to her "Here, eat some, I bet you're hungry after last night's moon?"

"Why are you so kind? I trespassed into your camp?"

"If you were hostile, you'd be here with your pack, so since you're alone, you must either be lost? Or here on peaceful terms?"

Nina smiled and took the meat from her.

Booming with confidence Nina was on her way to the next white furred clan, The Nordic Fenrirs, basically Vikings, it made her worry, they're also rather hostile, but Nina was succeeding so far, she couldn't stop.

Nina's ears were sagged, she was expecting them to be intimidating, but she had it wrong, they were scary. Beowulf and Valkarie, the Alpha male and female stood watching her after she told them the story, their bright green eyes were like emeralds in statues, their mat white hair more plain than the pearl shine in that of the Del Carchetore clan's, they looked at each other then nodded.

"Very well little dog, we'll be there"

"Thank you" She trotted away, secretly mumbling to herself 'No need to call me a dog ya know'

The final clan, stubborn as mules, from Germany, the Draufganger pack, Grey fur and bright yellow eyes made their gaze the most icy, Nina had trouble looking at them as she spoke, but she got the point across, surprisingly they responded rather quickly.

"Well be there little hyena"

She was shocked so much she even let it slip "That was quick?"

"We from Germany remember, we don't want world war, Hitler made us realise there's only stupidity in it"

"What makes you say that?"

"If Cleopatra succeeds in wiping all of us out, where do you think she'll turn to next?"

Nina couldn't believe how sharp this guy was, Siegfried Draufganger, he was definitely a wise Alpha, she smiled "Thank you sir"
