Chapter 13: Sweet Blood

               Cole was the one that returned first, his talk with the vampires had gone well. It was the vampires that suggested to overthrow the king. So, having them join us was easier when it came to asking. He brought along about 50 vampires with him, as for the others would arrive at a later time, possibly even tomorrow. Cole was radiating with power and authority, in all the years that I had known him he had never let out an aura like this and I was proud of him. “I’m glad your encounter with the vampires went well, you had better luck than I did. I had to deal with Alpha Lucas” I said in a grumpy tone. Cole let out a laugh, obviously nobody liked dealing with him. “Do you have any other news?” I asked. “I had a suspicion that Ciaran might be dead, but I’m thinking more that he might just be seriously injured and hasn’t recovered yet. So, there’s a possibility that he will not show when my father does.” “is there any way that he could be dead?” “no, we vampires have fast regenerating abilities just like you guys, maybe even faster. His wings won’t grow back, but it might take a little longer to heal the wounds.” He said.

               That was great news, not having his wings will definitely make it easier for us to defeat him when the time came. Just then a knock came at the door, “Come in” I called out, Raven and Dominick walked in. “Raven, Dominick, any news?” “Yes, the Elders of the witches have agreed to join in on the fight against the vampire king” Raven was the one that spoke. “That’s excellent news, now we just have to wait for everyone to show up.” “Does that mean that the vampires are coming as well?” Dominick turned to look at Cole, “Yes, I will need your help once they get here, I will also need you to locate my trusted warriors, if they are still in America, have them contact the vampires there” “I will get on that right away” Dominick then teleported out of the room. “Raven did you ask the Elders about the shadow?” I motioned for her to sit. “Yes, they said that witches can usually manipulate their own shadows to do their will. But something like this has never been heard of before. They think it might be one of her unknown powers so there should be nothing to worry about” I felt like she was leaving information out, but I didn’t push her, as long as we didn’t have to worry about it, then so be it. “Tomorrow, once we know everyone is here, we will need to speak with everyone, Lilith might have to be the one to speak, we will have to have a talk with her” Cole suggested “agreed” I said, and mind linked her to come here.

               After we ate, Adrian had to travel back to his pack to gather up the warriors that would be joining us for the fight. He wanted me to go with him so that I could meet what would be my new pack, being the Alpha’s mate would automatically make me their Luna. I wanted to go with him, but I also wanted to catch up with my dad, I hadn’t seen him in 10 years, and I really missed him. “I’m sorry I can’t go with you, I really want to spend some time with my dad, this whole time I thought he was dead. I would really like to catch up.” I calmly said “I understand, I will see you in a few hours then” he kissed the top of my forehead and left. Damn he was so sexy, I just stared at him walking away to his car. Damn this mate bond, it’s turned me into a marshmallow. “I remember when I first met my mate” my dad came up behind me and said, I turned around and smiled at my dad. “Hi dad” I said. “Hi sweetie” he smiled back at me taking me in a hug. “I’ve missed you so much” “I’ve missed you too dad, you have no idea” and the waterworks started again.

               My dad and I walked through the garden, he told me stories of when he used to be younger. My favorite story so far was when he met my mother. The waterfall where they met sounds like an amazing place, I want to go there one day and check it out for myself. he told me how when she became Luna, even though she was a vampire, she was a strong leader, and everyone looked up to her. I’m glad he was telling me all of this, I didn’t know what to expect when I would become Luna of Bloodmoon pack. “Mom sounds like she was an amazing woman” I made sure my dad could hear the appreciation in my voice. “She was, and so are you, you are a lot like her in so many ways” he said to me, “Alpha Adrian is lucky to have you as his mate” “Thank you dad.” We walked a bit more when I received a mind link from my uncle, “Hey precious, would you mind coming to my office? There’s something I would like to talk to you about” “sure thing uncle, I’ll be right up.” “Uncle Derek just mind linked me, he wants me to meet him in his office.” I told my dad. “I’ll come with you” he said. So, we both walked back inside the castle and headed upstairs to my uncle’s office.

               When we arrived, Raven and my grandpa Cole were back and sitting down on some couches that my uncle had in his office. For some reason Dominick was the’ only one missing. “Hey uncle, you wanted to talk to me?” I walked in and took a seat next to Raven. “yes, we all needed to talk to you actually, Blake I’m glad you joined us as well.” “We called you here to let you know that everyone has agreed to help out” “that’s great!” my dad said excitedly. “Yes, it is, everyone is now aware that you are the hybrid child, they are expecting big things from you. You might need to talk to them as well” Uncle Derek said, “why would I need to talk to them? I thought you were going to take care of that” I didn’t want to speak in front of a whole bunch of people I didn’t know, even if they were here to help protect me. “I was initially, and I will be there with you helping you out. But they are all going to want to meet you, you are a walking Myth, if we are going to receive the help we need. They want to make sure that you actually exist.” “Did they really say that?” I asked raising my eyebrow at my uncle. “No, but they will ask, once they get here.”

               I was now in my room laying down thinking over what my uncle had said, as much as I didn’t want to speak to everyone, I was going to have to. They might even ask for proof, ugh. I moved my hands and feet up and down on my bed. I was having an inner tantrum with myself. I heard a soft knock on the door, and it slowly opened, I turned my head towards the door. I didn’t feel like getting up and walking to open it, I didn’t say anything either I just watched as the door opened to reveal Adrian on the other side. I immediately cheered up and sat up on my bed. “Hey Adrian, how did it go with the pack?” he walked inside closing the door behind him and locking it, “It went good, everyone is getting settled in for the night” he made his way over to the bed and crawled on top of me giving me a long and passionate kiss like he hadn’t seen me in a long time, I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck. He took a deep breath inhaling my scent “I missed you” he said. I was not used to feeling this way. For the last 10 years I grew up thinking that I was a normal human girl, and now here I was, half werewolf, half vampire with my mate in my arms; I was feeling like nothing else in the world existed, was this love? “I missed you too” I said back to him. He smiled at me and started kissing me again.  

               Yup I had turned into a marshmallow, I have no idea where all this mushy feeling was coming from, Cathy did say that when I found my mate, I would be feeling like this though. I liked it, I really liked feeling like this. I took a deep breath inhaling Adrian’s fresh rain scent; I loved that smell and now it had become my favorite. My heart stopped beating all of a sudden and I felt my eyes dilating, mixed with his fresh rain scent was something else, something really sweet. My teeth started hurting, and I felt a sharp throbbing pain on them, I could feel my fangs coming out. I let out a small cry and Adrian looked at me with a worried look, “Ilene, is this you?” I asked my wolf “No, this is your vampire side, you smelled Adrian’s blood, you need to drink blood” she calmly said to me. I got scared and looked at Adrian “Lilith are you ok?” he started to get worried. “I, I d-don’t know.” I was having a hard time getting the words out, the pain was too much. My fangs finally stopped hurting, but now I felt like biting something, Adrian reached out for my face making me hiss at him. Using super speed, I climbed out of the bed and went to a corner in the room hissing at him again to keep away from me, I didn’t want to accidentally hurt him.

               My shadow made her way out of my body and gave me a disapproving nod, “She needs blood, her vampire side is making its appearance now” Shadow said. “What do you mean?” Adrian sounded alarmed, “Seriously?”  she crossed her arms over her chest and shook her head like she was surrounded by idiots. “She’s half vampire, vampires drink blood to survive. And right now, she’s hungry” damn she really had an attitude problem. “So, what should we do?” Adrian asked worried about me, she gave him her creepy smile before answering, “Let her feed off of you.” Adrian was taken aback as was I, “What?! No, I can’t feed off of him!” I yelled at her, “actually if he lets you do that, it will strengthen the mate bond more. It’s one thing vampire mates do. They feed off each other for that very reason,” Adrian walked over to me and took my hands in his, “if she’s right, this will only bring us closer to each other” he said to me looking straight at my eyes, his voice sounding so loving. I still wasn’t so sure; Ilene was jumping around in excitement in my head, she really liked the idea of bonding closer to Adrian. I nodded my head in agreement. Adrian took me in a hug, and I hugged him back. My shadow made her way back inside. I took another deep breath smelling his blood, but for some reason it smelled sweet I put my nose closer to his neck and sunk my fangs into his neck drinking his blood.

               This taste, it was intoxicating. I let go of his neck and looked up at him, “You know? That didn’t really hurt like I thought it would” he said. I smiled at him and in a seductive way I said “good.” I grabbed on to his neck and pulled him down to my level and kissed his lips. I had a newfound strength and speed that I used to push him against the wall on the other side of the room. “Damn baby” he said through hard breaths. I was feeling horny as f**k, and I wanted to devour him. I felt his d**k getting hard against my stomach and I smiled at the feeling. I ripped his shirt off and threw it behind me getting it out of the way. He gave me a sexy look “So you want it rough huh?” I smiled at him again and this time he grabbed me from the waist and turned me around so that I was the one against the wall.

               I unbuckled his pants while he was kissing me, he lifted off my shirt and took it off over my head. His eyes were flashing black between his beautiful green color, his wolf was fighting for dominance. A moan escaped from my mouth and his eyes flashed black again. He came back up again and started kissing my neck, a hand slipped under my back, as he unclipped my bra and proceeded to remove it.                I couldn’t take it anymore I needed to have him now, “take them off” I heavily breathed out with a demanding voice, he proceeded to take his pants off all the way, then his boxers. He softly moved his hands all over my legs slowly going up all the way to my hips and stopped right at the edge of my panties. The next day we woke up to the sound of our stomachs growling, damn I was really hungry. I got out of bed and made my way to the shower, Adrian joined me a few minutes after I had gone in. “Good morning beautiful, how did you sleep?” he asked as he grabbed a sponge, filled it with body wash and started cleaning my body, filling it with soap. “Good morning handsome, I slept great, if it wasn’t for my grumbling stomach, I would probably still be asleep” he laughed at my words, I amused him, but it was true. After he finished washing me, he rubbed shampoo on my hair, oh head massages felt so great, I felt like I was going to go back to sleep right there. After he was done with me I washed his body as well, taking care of him the way he did me; once it came to the shampoo though I couldn’t do it, he was too tall for me to properly reach, so he ended up doing it himself.

After we got out of the shower and got dressed, we headed downstairs to the dining room where lots of food was waiting to be eaten. With all of our new guests more food was prepared than it usually was. We sat down at one of the tables and started eating “good morning” Grandpa Cole made his way to an open chair at our table and sat down to eat as well. “Good morning Grandpa Cole” I answered with my mouth full of food, he looked at me with amusement on his face. “good morning Cole” Adrian greeted him as well. “Happy birthday my dear” my eyes widened at the realization; how could I have forgotten that today was my birthday? “Lilith, I totally forgot that today was your birthday, being stuck in that time space really f****d with my head a little” Adrian had embarrassment written all over his face. “Thank you, Grandpa, and to be honest, I forgot it was my birthday too” I laughed, making Adrian relax. “There has been a lot going on the past few days, it’s understandable” Grandpa Cole said, it was weird calling him grandpa, he looked like he wasn’t that much older than me.

I looked at him with a questioning look “you know, I feel a little weird calling you grandpa since you look like you’re not that much older than me, how old are you anyways?” he laughed at what I said and pretended to wipe a tear off his eye, I rolled my eyes at him. “I stopped aging when I was 28, so really I am only 10 years older than you… but no, I am really about 1400 years old or somewhere around there, it’s hard to keep track after so many years” I swear my mouth dropped open, did I just hear that correctly? He’s over a thousand years old. wow. He started laughing again, and I shook my head to get a grip on myself. “Yeah it’s pretty mind blowing, you’ll stop aging too at some point” he then said. “Wait, what? I’m going to stop ageing?” I asked in disbelief “yes, your hunger has awakened, so you will stop aging” he said shrugging his shoulders, as he took a bite from an apple. “would you mind explaining to me please, I am a little bit confused” I admitted. “Of course, that’s why I came to look for you too actually, I felt your hunger awaken last night, so I think it’s about time you learned more about vampires” “yes, that would be great” I said excitedly. “Adrian. You can join us too, it will help to know more about vampires, seeing as your mate is half of one” “yes, of course” why did they suddenly have to sound so formal? Sometimes they weirded me out from how fast their tones and moods changed.  

We walked outside to the back yard and made our way deep into the forest. In the distance I could hear a river running, the sound of the water sounded so relaxing, I loved being outside in the woods. We came to a clearing that had a cliff where the river fell into a waterfall, and at the bottom a big crystal blue pond. This place was amazing, so many beautiful places to see, I wanted to go down to the water so bad and take a swim in it. My uncle had brought us here for other reasons though, maybe after we were done. “I will tell you later why I have brought you to this specific place, but first I wanted to talk about vampires” he said and made himself comfortable sitting on the ground leaning against a tree, Adrian and I took that as a sign that it was going to take long, so we decided to take a seat as well.

Many years ago, there was a king who had taken so many years to accomplish his reign, he had no heirs and didn’t want to die without first having a child who would take over when his time was up. Every woman that he tried conceiving with never ended up pregnant, and he was becoming desperate as he was reaching an old age. He decided to consult with a witch about his problem, the witch told him that he couldn’t have children of his own no matter how many women he tried with, he was sterile. He begged the witch for help, he was set on having an heir that would take over his reign, for the right price, the witch agreed to help. Since he couldn’t have children of his own, the witch would help him make one, by taking his blood and forging a baby.

The witch was successful in creating a baby boy, she never discussed how she was able to do it, just that she used the blood of the king. When the child turned 16, he started acting different. He could hear everything, everything seemed much clearer, and he was faster at moving when he wanted to be fast. He was so fast at moving that you couldn’t see him. His father encouraged him to look for a woman at a young age, that way he would have the possibility of producing an heir of his own for when the time came. he agreed, to meet women until he found the one that was right for him.

As time went by, he learned to use his abilities, he also learned that he could hypnotize people to do whatever he told them to, this is known as compulsion. When he turned 18, everything changed, one of the maids in the castle accidentally broke some glass and cut herself. He tried to help her, but instead was stopped dead in his tracks, a sweet smell made it to his nostrils, he inhaled the smell, his pupils dilated, his teeth turned into fangs. He didn’t know what was happening to him all he knew is that he wanted to have a taste. He took the maids hand in a fast motion and licked it, this made him lose himself and he bit her sucking all the blood out of her body.

The maid fell on the floor, weak and her heart rate very faint, realizing what he just did he freaked out and tried to do CPR on her, but to no avail. As he was having a panic attack, he forgot that the blood was still on the floor and cut his hand. As he brought it up a few drops fell inside the maids open mouth. When he inspected the injury, it had been healed already. He didn’t know what was happening to him, he wanted to run away. With that thought his back started hurting, his body changing into something else, then wings emerged from his back. He flew away afraid of what he had just done. The maid eventually died, but those drops of blood that she took before she died revived her. She was happy to be alive only to find out that she had been turned into a monster that craved the blood of others. This is how the first non-royal vampire was made.

The father of the child eventually died, and with the child having ran away there was no heir to take over the throne. A wealthy man took over the castle and spread the previous king’s name, making him a bad person, word reached his son, and he was angry that someone would dirty his father’s name and swore to take over the throne as the rightful ruler. In the years that he had been away he learned that he could make others like himself, by feeding them his blood then killing them. He remained the only one who could grow wings, at first, he was disappointed but with time, he liked the feeling of being superior.

He returned home and killed the man who took over as king by draining his blood, and those who had believed him and followed him. He drained the blood of an entire village making him a very fearful king, nobody dared to defy him, if anyone did, they would be drained of their blood. As time passed, he decided he would take his father’s advice and marry someone, and eventually produce an heir. He had his eyes on a young vampire woman and he wanted her, but she did not want him, she had a mate that happened to be a werewolf. He was not used to being told no, and if he couldn’t have her then nobody could.

He sneaked into their home to kill the both of them, the man and the woman were stronger and faster than he had thought they would be, he had gone prepared with silver powder, he threw it at the man who dropped to the floor in pain, causing her to lose her focus on the fight and he drained her, drinking her blood, he felt power like never before and he himself became stronger and faster, then proceeded to take the man’s blood as well, feeling the same power from him as he did her. By drinking their blood, he could see into their memories and learned that they were the first Gemini twins.

Many more years passed, and he had children of his own, when the children grew up, they were able to grow wings as well, this is where he learned that only vampires from his same bloodline would have this ability passed down to them. This man has been known for thousands of years, The vampire king Vladimir. My father.
