The fall air was so refreshing compared to the sweltering heat of this past summer. I love this weather, the crisp air, the leaves falling, and getting out my comfy sweatshirts. I was heading into town to meet a friend I haven’t seen in a long time. She left right after graduation from high school and headed out west. Shawn couldn’t wait to get out of this town. She was back in town, staying with her parents until she got bored again and flew off on a new exploit.
I pulled into the strip mall in town, heading for the coffee shop. I sat at a table in the patio section. My drink order arrived, and I heard a voice with a southern drawl behind me.
