V I N C E N T
30 Minutes Earlier.
After I get cleaned up, I head back downstairs and get back to enjoying my party. Mackenzie was right, I shouldn't let Jasmine's selfish needs ruin my day.
After opening my presents, we played a series of party games, curtesy of Kaitlyn and Shannon, ate some more food danced the day away.
After a significant amount of time had passed, we decided to round up the party. Everyone seemed to be partied out and we needed to get back to our daily business. After a few of my friends helped me load up my presents, I asked them to head on without me, I needed to sort things with Jasmine before I leave and I'd rather not leave things on a bad note, especially on my birthday.
I head back into the Packhouse to look for Alpha Nate to ask him when exactly he'll be leaving since we were meant to all leave together. I find him speaking to Mackenzie but as soon as I am about to approach him, his phone begins to buzz excessively in his pocket, but he doesn't seem like he's going to answer it.
"Aren't you going to pick up?" Mackenzie asks him, glancing at his pocket for a second.
"Nope, I'm trying to enjoy my time with you, I'm sure whatever it is, it can wait." He says and grabs her waist slyly and kisses her forehead softly.
"Baby, answer your phone. Now." She scolds him and he sighs slightly and is about to complain but Mackenzie takes the phone out of his pocket instead and hands it to him.
"You forget I'm a Lycan right? So I can hear that 4000 times louder than you can." Mackenzie laughs and Nate rolls his eyes lightly and chuckles along with her before shaking his head and looking at his phone, his smile falling and soon a deep frown takes its place.
"Hello?" He says once he places the phone to his ear and answers, walking away from Mackenzie so he can speak more privately.
"Hey, Vinny." I hear someone say from behind me. It's AJ, with Thalia by his side, holding onto 2 cups.
"Hi, guys." I greet them back.
"So what's up with you and the redhead?" He asks bluntly, making Thalia bump him.
"What he meant to say was... How are things with you and Jasmine?" She asks a little more subtly after Thalia corrects him just as he hands me one of the cups in his hand. I thank him and take a short sip of the purple soda before sighing to myself as I remember what happened with Jasmine.
"I guess we're just going through a rough patch, that's all. No need to worry about me..." I assure them.
"Okay, just checking up on you." She says and places her hand on my arm.
"Thanks." I smile at the both of them. In the corner of my eye, I notice Alpha Nate walk back into the room with a worried expression. He walks back over to Mackenzie and she can instantly tell that there's something wrong with her Mate. I don’t want to eavesdrop on them and so I zone them out and instead continue speaking with AJ and Thalia.
After a moment, Nate calls for everyone's attention...
"Unfortunately, members of the Red Dawn Pack are going to have to leave immediately. There is urgent Pack business that needs to be attended to as we speak." He speaks seriously.
"What happened?" I ask Nate, making him look at me.
"Someone was caught trespassing on our territory and the Guards are not sure what they are. We are needed right away." He explains vaguely, not really giving many details.
"Okay, we best leave then. Thanks for having us and making today an awesome day." I say to everyone and particularly to Mackenzie since she agreed to host us.
"It was a pleasure having you," Mackenzie says to me making everyone agree. We begin to say our goodbyes to everyone and once we are done, we begin to leave. I guess I have to talk to Jasmine another time...
"Alright, let's go." Nate lets out. Tierri, Eric, Lena are about to leave but before I follow after them, I remember that I have left my phone upstairs charging, in Jasmine's room. I should've remembered to get it when I was up there to change my shirt...
"Um, Nate, I have to head upstairs to grab my phone. I'll be right back." I tell him, just as we are about to reach the front door.
"Okay, but be quick. We need to be there in the next 10 minutes." He tells me and I nod in understanding.
With that, I turn around and jog up the stairs to quickly get my phone. Once I reach the hallway that leads to Jasmine room, I slow down my pace and frown to myself as I hear strange noises that seem to be coming from her room. As I walk closer to the room I can now hear them clearly... and I know exactly what it is...
Moaning and panting.. and the sound of Jasmine's voice.
I let a low growl slip through my mouth as I gather all the strength I have to push open the door, putting my hand on the door handle, trying to open it. But it appears to be locked. No matter. I snap off the door handle with my bare hands and shove the door open, walking into the room and freezing as my eyes land on what is in front of me.
There they are.
Going at it on her bed with absolutely no shame. Jasmine gasps and quickly pushing the blonde-haired guy that's between her legs off of her, quickly trying to cover herself with a blanket. The stench of their two scents mixed together makes me cringe in disgust as I stare blankly at the both of them, but that only lasts a few seconds.
"What the f**k is going on here?!" I yell looking at either two of them to explain themselves. The guy pulls the covers over his manhood and sits up in the bed, looking at me irritatfkg and boy is it taking everything I have in me not to rip his throat out.
"Vinny! I-I thought you left-" She panics, holding the blanket closer to her chest.
"Does that matter right now?" I yell at her. I can't believe she would do this to me. I know I turned her down thousands of times, but if she wanted out she could've just let me know and go find someone else. She should at least respected me enough not to cheat on me.
"Chill out bro, we were just some having fun." The man in the bed with her lets out nonchalantly.
"Chill out?" I snarl at him before I run-up to the guy in super speed and pull him off the bed and onto the hard floor. I then pick him up by the throat and pin him against the wall, lifting him off the ground. People forget that I was once a Rogue... and they have no idea what I am capable of doing to those that cross me.
"I'm chill. Bro. What makes you think I'm not chill?!" I growl at him, imitating his dumb frat boy accent, my grip tightening around his throat as I feel my nails dig into the flesh of this throat.
"What's going on in here?!... Vinny!" I hear Shannon's voice from the door and I turn to find her, Mackenzie, Shannon, AJ and Ethan standing in the doorway and watching me with concern happening in front of them.
"I think you already have an idea of what happened." I growl angrily as I look over to Jasmine in the bed as she begins to cry and hide herself from everyone.
"I'm sorry Vinny..." She cries but something about it isn't sincere at all. I shake my head at her before I drop the guy on the floor and land a hard punch on his jaw, knocking him out completely making his limp body fall to the floor.
"Ben!" She shrieks, before getting up and checking if he is okay. I'm breathing heavily, my chest rising and falling violently as I feel my Wolf stir uncontrollably. I take a deep breath to calm myself down before I end up shifting, looking at her one last time before I finally say what I needed to say.
"We're done." I say breathlessly and walk over to the end table to grab my phone and charger.
"No, Vinny please-" She pleads and reaches over to grab my arm.
"Don't touch me!" I snatch my arm away and begin to leave the room, not giving her a second look.
"Vinny!" She yells as I finally leave the room and walk past everyone, pausing slightly in front of the group of concerned people in front of me.
"Mackenzie, I'm sorry about the door..." I say to her and she takes a step forward, eyeing me with worry.
"It's okay. Don't worry about it." Mackenzie nods at me and I can tell she can understand why I did what I did.
"I'll see you guys around." I say to all of them before I walk off without saying another word. I practically storm down the stairs and through the living room. I could feel everyone's eyes on me but I didn't want to pay attention to that. I need to be out of this house.
I get outside where Alpha Nate is waiting with along with my brother Eric, Tierri and Lena, looks of concern printed on their faces.
"Are you okay? We heard." Nate asks as I reach where they are standing.
I try to slow down my breathing, inhaling through my nose and exhaling through my mouth.
"I'm fine. Let's go." I say and begin to walk to the car. They can probably already tell that I don't want to talk about it. I just want to forget about what happened. This has made my entire mood sour and this time I can’t ignore it. Honestly speaking, I'm not even looking forward to what the rest of the day might hold.
We all enter the car and immediately start off, Alpha Nate driving as fast as possible.
"Nate could you slow down, some of us are pregnant back here." Lena winces as the car shakes due the bumps on the gravel road just after we pass the border entrance and drive towards the main road. Tierri puts his hand over his Mate's swollen tummy and massages it lightly, asking if she's okay.
"Sorry Lena, but we have to get there like now." He says as he slows down a bit to make Lena feel comfortable. Lena is almost due for her pregnancy and so Tierri is very overprotective of her. He wouldn't want anything to happen to their second child.
"What exactly is going on Nate?" Eric asks as we make a turn to enter the road that leads to the border of our territory.
"The Pack guards found someone trespassing on our territory, they trailed her scent and it seems like she came from the direction of the Black Moon Pack."
"She?" I ask, looking at him.
"Yes, they don't know if she is a Werewolf or not. They think she's human." He continues. Maybe this day might not be that bad.
"Point is, I don't want any Black Moon Mutts on my territory." Nate hisses angrily, and it makes all of us tense for Alpha Nate has always had a bad history with the Black Moon Pack since they're constantly attacking us and trying to meddle in our business.
"Let's see who she is first before you try and kill her." Eric tries to calm his friend and Alpha, knowing fully well what Alpha Nate is capable of doing. He is called the Rogue King for a reason...
"No promises." He speaks just as we approach our territory. After a few minutes, we head deep into the woods and drive towards the entrance of our territory where we are met with giant gates and a wall fence when Nate's phone begins to ring again.
"Eric, answer my phone. Tell them that we are almost there." Nate speaks as we slow down for the Pack guards to open the gates for us.
Eric takes Nate's phone from the compartment in between the two front seats.
"Hello, Beta Eric speaking." He answers.
"What? I thought you said she was Human." He says and looks at Nate beside him. Nate frowns deeply as he drives passed the gates.
"Tell me where you are now." He says and pauses for a moment, listening to what the person on the other end is saying.
"Okay, we are almost there." Eric says and cuts the phone quickly. Just at that moment, I feel a pang in my chest and head. It stings and it makes me wince quietly at the sudden burst of pain. But as soon as it comes, it’s gone.
That was weird...
"The girl is shifting, and she's in a lot of pain. We have to get there immediately. They are on the west side of the territory." Eric tells us.
"We can run from here then. Tierri, you can drive Lena back to the Packhouse and meet up with us." Nate says as we come to a stop.
"Yeah of course," Tierri answers just as we all step out of the car. We waste no time. The second Alpha Nate, Tierri and I are out of the car, the two of them shift into their large Wolves. I hesitate at first but soon I finally shift into my dark brown Wolf and stand beside them, awaiting their orders.
"Stay close," Nate says through the Link before he takes off into the woods, Eric and I following after him.
