Humans tend to overcomplicate everything. They so grandly titled their species the only rational animal, yet I would beg to differ. While it’s true that wolves mostly act out of instinct, there’s nothing we value more than respect - the very reason why our race thrives.
Us wolves rely on the hierarchy of our society, recognizing it as the foundation that makes us survive. We are not ashamed of bowing our heads to those who are more powerful than us. But most importantly, we know to respect our Goddess given mates. Even an Alpha male will bend to the will of their Luna.
There was no one in the world I respected more than my strong, kind mate. But for once, I felt like Tristan’s respect and patience with her were driving us further apart.
