The soft plop of feet hitting stone woke me. I turned in bed to face the balcony. “Sorry I didn’t mean to wake you.” Maximus’s voice carried to me as he stepped into the room. The sun had yet to rise, so I was surprised to see him here already. “Is something wrong?” I asked, propping myself up as I wiped my eyes, trying to wake up. “No, I said I would be back in the morning.” He chuckled as he sat down on the bed next to me. “But-“ I stopped to yawn as I tried to fight off the weariness I felt, “the sun is not up yet.” “No but it will be soon, get some rest.” He said as he laid down next to me, propping his head up with his hand. “But-“ I tried to protest, but he waved it off. “Just get some rest.
