Chapter 41; No escape from the shadows
Alexis made her way to Alyssa's temporary abode. As soon as Alyssa's gaze fell upon Alexis, she swiftly rose from her slumber and approached her.
However, before she could do anything, she gave her a thunderous slap. She touched her lips to see that it was bleeding. She moved her jaw a little.
“You’re safe now,” she said to her holding her swollen cheek.
“Where the hell were you?” she asked with her hands on her hips.
“I was working.” She replied.
“I can’t f*****g believe you; you were working? Couldn’t you f*****g text me or something.”
“I did what I thought was right.”
“What was right? What the f**k are you talking about?” she shouted at her.
