Gabriel squeezed his eyes shut, as though that would somehow take away the discomfort that did far more than irritate him. Whatever medication Priscilla had given him had helped, but only a little. He still felt like his body was stuck between a freezer and an oven. He was hot and sweaty but still trembled, as though ice had replaced his blood. At this point, the pain assaulting his body mainly had turned into a dull heaviness. He just wished he could fall asleep again and have a few hours of just being off and not feeling anything.
