Chap # 4 "Why are you so fat?"

1933 Words
Nathan Rivera's POV I cleared my throat to get her attention but she didn't hear me, as I signed in relief. She almost got me worried, I came home to find her nowhere. I searched everywhere only to find her in the balcony of our room. She gazed at the scenery before her. I was late today; the sun was setting already and here she was watching it. The colors of the sunset were illuminating her face as her eyes sparkled. I stepped forward as I stood right behind her. I slowly tapped her shoulder as she quickly turned her body to face me with locks of her hair slapping my chest. Her eyes wide as she stared at me with her small lips pushed apart. I liked the closeness. Her hands clamped the rails that were on her back as she tried to put distance between us. "Hey." I smiled at her as she gulped. "Hi." She whispered as her gaze locked with mine. We kept searching each other eyes as a tint of blush covered her cheeks. "Beautiful." I held my hand up towards her cheek as I pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. Her eyes cast down as her ears started to change color. I played with her soft curls as her breaths increased. My hands went down and towards her waist as she yelped softly. I turned her around, towards the sunset and stepped closer with her back touching my chest. "The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?" I asked, lowly. She came to her senses and thought that I was talking about the sunset and not her but only I know that she was most stunning in my eyes, the most beautiful one out there. "Yes." She said as I leaned my lips closer to her ear. "Derek and his wife, Valeria are coming for dinner tomorrow night. Be ready and don't go in the kitchen. Lydia will take care of everything." She nodded quickly as I saw her eyes closed. The sun was slowly setting as I watched it with her beside me. The sensation of her in my arms was amazing, the sky was getting dark as we didn't move a muscle. Our breathing was the only source of sound. "Mrs. Rivera the din- Oh! I'm sorry." Janet eyes snapped open as she stepped out of my hold and stared at the maid. "The d-dinner is ready." I nodded at her. "We will there in a minute." I said as the maid left with a small smile. "Let’s go." I said as I intertwined our fingers making her glance at me as we walked together towards the dining room. She sat on her seat as I sat in mine and the rest of the dinner was silent. ******* I walked home today really late again because of some emergency in the hospital and found the whole dining room filled with the aroma of delicious food, the table filled with variety of food. It was really surprising and elegant, the plates, forks and glasses were shinning and the napkins were put neatly. And the pleasant smell of the food was calling me to devour the goodness. "Lydia put the sweet dish in the fridge so it remains cool." I heard her soft voice as she came in the dining room. My eyes widened as they raked over her body. She was wearing a beautiful red dress, a ribbon tight on her waist, her chest was fitted perfectly in the dress and the dress was flowy from below the waist with full sleeves. I gulped as our eyes met. My eyes raked over her body once again. Her legs were covered by the thin see-through skin color fabric which looked rather sexy. She saw the shift in my eyes as her nose turned red. I inwardly, shook my head as I cleared my throat to which she looked up at me. "You made this?" I asked the question that came in my mind first. "Y-yes. I know you told me not to go to the kitchen b-but I couldn't help myself, I couldn't just sit and do nothing." I made my way towards her in just two steps as I leaned closer to face. Her eyes immediately shut close as she looked scared. I caressed her cheek, tenderly. She slowly opened her eyes and meet mine, I smiled at her as the corner of her lips slowly turned up making me grin wider. "Thank you, even though I never told you to cook for me. You did. And I like that about you." I said as her eyes sparkled. This girl standing in front of me has changed my life in just two weeks. Every morning, I have a reason to wake up, seeing her every morning brightens my day. Every night sleeping beside her makes me have a peaceful sleep with dreams full of her. Marring her was something which actually wasn't my idea but still choosing to marry her was the best decision I have ever made. She didn't speak after that but beamed at me making my heart jump. My eyes went to her lips and I just wanted to capture those luscious lips in mine but that would be too much. I leaned in to kiss her cheek as her breath hitched. Only a few inches but before anything could happen the main bell rang and Lydia came out of the kitchen to see us in this position. She ignored us and left to get the door. I stepped back from my bright red wife as I smirked at her. "I-I am g-going to the kitchen." She stuttered as she ran to the kitchen. I chuckled and went to the living room to find the couple already arrived. "Hey there" Derek got up from the couch as he saw me approaching, we half hugged as I ruffled the hair of a very pregnant Valeria. She scowled at me as flipped her finger at me. "You are going to have a child act mature for once." I spoke as Derek laughed and kiss his wife's cheek. "I just love the way she is." He declared. "By the way, speaking of wife where is yours?" He questioned as he raised an eyebrow at me. "She is preparing dinner." I informed them as they nodded. I talked with them for a while and then got up to check on Janet. I went in the kitchen to find Lydia; I turned and strode towards the dining room to find her putting a dish. "Janet." She jumped when I called her name. "Y-yes?" "Is everything ready?" I asked her as she nodded. "Come join me." I said as I held up my hand for her to take. She stared at my hand for a good two seconds before she placed her on top of mine making me smile. With our hands clamped together we walked towards the living room. "Guys, the dinner is ready." I said as they turned to face us. They both eyes were fixed on a shy Janet, Valeria eyes went down towards our hands as she beamed at me. Derek stood up and helped Valeria as they both walked towards us. "Hey. I am Valeria, Derek's wife. We didn't get the chance to talk at the wedding." Valeria spoke first as she smiled warmly at Janet. "Hi." Janet whispered as she bowed her head in shyness. "Let's go to the dining room and talk." I spoke as we entered the room. The whole dinner was amazing and thanks all to Janet. Valeria couldn't stop asking questions to Janet as she was surprised by the cooking skills Janet had. Janet was smiling the whole dinner as I felt my heart jump. That's what I wanted, her to smile all day long. Me and Derek kept up a conversation of the new resort he was going to buy. We were now in the backyard as Janet bought some tea and sweets for us. The tea was so delicious that I wanted to keep drinking it. Janet and Valeria sat in the corner so me and Derek were listening their conversation. "So, your mom taught you this?" Valeria asked another question just after Janet explained her the tea's recipe. "Yes." "Wow! I want you to be my personal chef." Valeria exclaimed as Janet blushed. "Can I ask you a question?" Janet asked and I was surprised that she was about to ask something. "Yeah of course." "Why are you, fat?" We all looked at Janet in confusion as Valeria cleared her throat "You must eat so much and you must love food." I was beyond shock. Even a child could tell that Valeria was pregnant. "I am pregnant that's why." Valeria answered her with a low voice. "Pregnant?" Janet gave all of us a quizzical look as her eyes trained on the belly "I have a baby inside my stomach." Valeria said as she held Janet's hand and placed it on top of her belly without Janet protesting. "Something moved." Janet said, startled as she moved her hand away. "It's the baby." Janet looked at Valeria's belly curiously and me and Derek shared a look of utter disbelief. "Did you not know?" Valeria asked her softly with a nervous chuckle. Janet looked at us with shock as I saw her taking quick breaths. We all were stunned as Janet shook her head in a 'No'. "I-I love the dress you are wearing." Valeria said with a forced smile as she tried to drift the topic. "It was a gift." Janet answered as I turned to see Derek looking at Janet with curious eyes. "Nathan? How come she doesn't know about how a baby being born?" Derek whispered to me and I was still in shock. "I don't know." I didn't know and I was now scared of what really happened in her life. ********** "Nathan, she needs help! How can a person not know about these stuffs in this generation!" Valeria whispered-yelled as we stood at the front door. They were about to leave when Valeria said she needs to talk. "Valeria is right." Derek spoke. "Listen, even I have a feeling that she has been through something and that was the reason I invited you so she can talk and today she did more than she did in these past two weeks." I explained them and continued. "She does needs help but not with a doctor. With friends, someone she can trust. And I need you both to help her, especially you Valeria." Valeria smiled at her with pat on my shoulder. "I will." She agreed as I smiled at her, grateful. "Let's agree to not talk about this and let Janet recover on her own." They both nodded their heads in agreement as I signed in relief. They left the next moment as I went towards the bedroom to see her already sleeping. I pulled the duvet on top of her as I laid on the other side. I swear to myself that I would protect her and be by her side every second of my life. Just thinking about the things, she might be gone through makes me sick. What if someone abused her, that's why she always flinches whenever I held my hand up to caress her cheek. All the thoughts were making me go crazy. I closed my eyes and tried not to think about her life before me. And soon enough, I was in deep sleep. ********** Lol! ~/~
