CHAPTER 5

'A soulmate couple are regarded as being perfect for each other in every way. The soulmates provide each other with understanding, healing and strength. Nakatitig lang si Serenity sa cellphone niya. She's looking for the meaning of soulmate bond and this is what the internet has shown her. "...unbroken until death, unless one of them will reject his or her soulmate." Nangalumbaba siya.

She's a werewolf. Of course, she will have her own soulmate but she doesn't want one. She sighed deeply.

"Young Lady."

Napatingin siya kay Elliott. Inilapag nito sa harapan niya ang pagkain niya. "Thanks." Aniya.

Bahagyang yumukod si Elliott. Aalis na sana ito pero pinigilan niya. "Wait."

"Yes, Young Lady?"

"I have one thing for you to do." Aniya.

"What is it, Young Lady? I'm willing to do it whatever you ask." Ani Elliott.

Tumaas ang sulok ng labi ni Serenity. "Okay. Since you're willing to do, whatever I wanted you to do." Ngumiti siya. "I want you to stop bowing to me. I'm not a queen."

"But you are my master."

Umiling si Serenity. "Don't bow to me. I'm not comfortable."

"Yes, Young Lady. Then I'll excuse myself."

Tumango si Serenity. Tinignan niya ang pagkain na nasa harapan niya. Iba talaga ang pagkain sa Pilipinas sa pagkain dito sa Italy. Mabuti na lang at lumaki siya dito kaya nasanay siya sa mga pagkain dito sa Italy. She started to dig in her food. Habang kumakain siya, nagbabasa siya ng magazine. Pero kaagad din siyang nagsawa at isinara niya ito.

"Elliot," tawag niya kay Elliot na nakaharap sa sink. Sa pagkakatanda niya, kasing edad niya lang ito. Nakilala na niya ito noon pero hindi sila nag-usap dahil patungo na sila sa airport sa oras na 'yon.

"Yes, Young Lady?" Lumapit ito sa kaniya.

Ngumiti siya. "Ilang taon ka ulit mula ng magsimula ka na butler ng mansion na 'to?" tanong niya.

"Since fourteen, Young Lady."

Napatango si Serenity. "Then how old are you now?"

"Twenty-five, Young Lady," sagot ni Elliott.

"So, you're two years older than me." Aniya. "Anyway, can you tell to me how's the business here now?"

"Young Lady, the business is good. Actually, this year we had a contract and seal a deal with one of the biggest companies here in Italy. Yesterday, they called and they were asking if they could meet you. But here you are now," Elliott said.

Napatango si Serenity. "One of the biggest companies. I wonder who's the CEO of this company?"

"He's influential, Young Lady. He's also ruthless and no one will dare to stand in his way. Actually, your father's company is also one of the well-known companies here in Italy. My father is actually the CEO and later, he will come here to meet you."

Ngumiti si Serenity. "Okay." Nagpatuloy siya sa pagkain.

Business? What does she know about business? She's a veterinarian and she only had a little knowledge about business. Napabuntong hininga na lang siya. Napatingin siya kay Elliott nang buklatin nito ang magazine na kanina lang ay tinitignan niya.

"He's the one, Young Lady."

Natigilan si Serenity nang makita ang picture ng lalaki sa magazine. "Does he really have a pair of golden eyes?" tanong niya kay Elliott.

"Yes, Young Lady. He's the CEO I'm talking about." Ani Elliot.

Napatitig siya sa larawan ng lalaki.

'Woah. He's so handsome. I wanted a mate like him.' Biglang sabi ni Amira.

'Shut up, Amira.'

'Okay. Okay. I'll shut up.'

Pakiramdam ni Serenity ay pamilyar sa kaniya ang lalaki lalo na ang kulay ng mata nito. Tinignan niya kung ano ang pangalan nito. "Connor Greyson?"

Connor?

"His secretary told me that Mr. Greyson wanted to meet you personally."

Serenity sighed. Tumango siya. "Arrange a meeting with him tomorrow."

"Yes, My Lady. But shouldn't you rest first?"

Ngumiti si Serenity. "I'm not that tired." Maybe because she's not a human. "I will be fine tomorrow. I'll rest now."

Tumango si Elliott.

Iginiya ni Elliott si Serenity patungo sa kwarto nito para makapagpahinga ito. When Serenity lay down on her bed, she immediately falls asleep and fell into a dream.

"Mother?" Serenity called her mother when she saw her. Humarap ito sa kaniya at ngumiti. Niyakap siya nito.

"Serenity, may gagawin lang ako sa 'yo kaya nagpakita ako ngayon sa panaginip mo. Ang gagawin kong 'to ay alam kong hindi papabor sa 'yo pero alam kong ito ang makakabuti para sa 'yo kaya patawarin mo ako. I foresaw that you are mated with two Alpha's but one of them will reject you while the other will accept you wholeheartedly even he didn't know that you are a werewolf."

Kumunot ang nuo ni Serenity. "What do you mean, Mother?"

Hinawakan ni Goddess Aaliyah ang kamay ni Serenity. Naramdaman niya na parang may kuryenteng dumaloy sa ugat niya patungo sa loob niya. Tumingin siya sa kaniyang ina.

Ngumiti si Goddess Aaliyah. "Serenity, tandaan mo. You are mated with two Alpha's. Walang dapat makaalam na isa kang white wolf. If you accept the wrong mate, he will take advantage of you. He will just use you for him to become more powerful. Now, I will seal Amira inside you. You two can still talk but you can't transform in your wolf form and Amira will lose her senses. It means that she can't sense your mate now and she can't even sense other werewolf but your speed and ability will remain. You can only transform to your wolf form if your true mate will mark you."

"But what if the wrong mate will mark me?"

"Then Amira will die. Amira's strengths will come from your true mate. You will still live but you will lose your ability to heal," Goddess Aaliyah said.

Napatango si Serenity. "Mother, that sounds cruel and it's complicated."

"It's for your safety." Hinaplos ni Goddess Aaliyah ang mukha ni Serenity. "Listen to me."

Tumango si Serenity."Oh, okay. I got it, Mother."

Ngumiti si Goddess Aaliyah.

Serenity sighed. "Why am I mated to two alphas anyway? What if they are both bad?"

Ngumiti lang si Goddess Aaliyah na parang may alam. "It's a challenge for you, my daughter. I'll leave now. Don't forget what I have told you."

"Yes, Mother."

Naglaho si Goddess Aaliyah.

Napahinga naman ng malalim si Serenity.

Nagmulat siya ng mata. Tinignan niya ang oras at nakitang alas sais na ng umaga. "Mother, finding my mate is really complicated. What if I choose the wrong one?"

'I die. So, be clever and choose our right mate. Have mercy on me.'

Serenity sighed and shook her head.

Connor looked at his wrist watch. He looked at the restaurant in front of him. Dito ang nagpag-usapan kung saan sila magkikita ng adopted daughter ng may-ari ng Morgan's Company. It's not his thing to meet a woman but this time is different.

"This is the heiress of Morgan's Company, Mr. Greyson." Ipinakita ng Morgan's Company ang larawan ng isang babae.

Natigilan siya nang makita ang larawan ng babae. Her hair is white as snow and her eyes is bright blue. "Serenity?" Sambit niya.

"Yes, Mr. Greyson. Her name is Serenity Morgan. How did you know?"

Napakurap siya. "I just guess. She's beautiful. It's my first time to see a beauty like her."

Tumango ang CEO ng Morgan's Company. "You're right, Mr. Greyson. Young Lady Serenity is indeed a beauty. Her beauty is different from any other women. She looked like a goddess."

"Can I meet her? I just want to meet her personally." Ani Connor.

"Sure, Mr. Greyson. I will give her a call but if she doesn't want to come here then I apologize in advance."

Tumango si Connor. "I want to meet her for the future of our business."

Connor entered the restaurant. Dinala naman siya ng waiter sa isang VIP room upang doon niya hintayin ang ka-meeting niya. Sa totoo lang ay kinakabahan siya. Hindi niya alam kung bakit. Hindi siya sigurado kung si Serenity ba ang babae na tinutukoy ng CEO ng Morgan's Company? Sana nga, siya. Pareho kasi ang mga ito ng kulay ng buhok at kulay ng mata. Serenity is indeed had that kind of unique beauty and Serenity Morgan is the same.

Huminga siya ng malalim. Umupo siya at pinagsiklop ang palad niya. Kinakabahan siya.

'If she's our mate, it's the time that you will become nervous.' Sabi sa kaniya ni Alpha.

'Shut up, Alpha.'

But then his beloved inner wolf suddenly blocked their mindlink again. Napailing na lang siya sa inner wolf niya.

"This way, Ma'am."

Connor suddenly inhaled a unique and familiar scent. It's a sweet scent.

'Mate.' Alpha said.

Natigilan si Connor. "What did you say?"

'Our mate. She's here.' Alpha jumped in excitement.

Mabilis na napatayo si Connor. He was about to leave the VIP room when it opened and a beautiful woman entered. Literal na natigilan si Connor nang makita ang pumasok na babae. Nagtama ang mata nilang dalawa.

"Mate," sabay na sambit ni Connor at ng inner wolf niya.

Her scent. It's the same with Serenity. Aniya.

"I assumed the you are Mr. Connor Greyson," wika ni Serenity sa lalaking kaharap niya. Well, alam naman niyang si Connor Greyson ang kaharap niya. Sinabi niya lang 'yon dahil hindi niya kayang makipagtitigan rito. She can't bear to stare to his golden eyes. Parang hinihigop ang kaluluwa niya. At bumilis rin ang t***k ng puso niya.

"Yes, I am," sabi ni Connor.

Tipid na ngumiti si Serenity. "I'm Serenity Morgan. Nice to meet you, Mr. Greyson." Pormal niyang saad at inilahad ang kamay para makipag-kamay rito.

Tinanggap naman ni Connor ang pakikipagkamay ni Serenity.

Nang magdaop ang kamay ni Serenity at Connor, naramdaman ni Serenity ang kuryente na dumaloy sa ugat niya kaya mabilis siyang napabitaw sa kamay ni Connor.

'Amira, did you feel that?'

'I was sealed inside you remember? I lost my senses. I will be only back to normal if our true mate will mark us. Though I was attracted to this handsome man in front of us, I don't know if he is our mate or not. And I can't even sense if he's a werewolf or not. Remember what the Moon Goddess have told us.'

'Okay. I got it.' Ngumiti siya.

"Have a sit, Miss Morgan."

"Thanks." Umupo si Serenity at umupo naman sa tapat niya si Connor.

Is it coincidence? Magkapangalan lang ba silang dalawa?

She already met the Connor wolf and now she met the Connor human.

Nag-order sila ng pagkain. Of course, nag-uusap sila but Serenity needs to apologize.

"I only came here because you requested it, Mr. Greyson. Mr. Russo told me that you wanted to meet me for the future of the business but," tipid na ngumiti si Serenity, "I apologize in advance, Mr. Greyson, that I don't know much about business."

Ngumiti si Connor. "It's okay. Just call me by my name."

"Connor..." Serenity stopped.

"What's wrong?" tanong ni Connor.

Serenity sighed. "I just remember a friend of mine who has the same name as yours."

Natigilan si Connor. She remembered me?

'Us? Don't take all the credit,' sabad ni Alpha.

'Fine. Us.'

Connor looked at Serenity with smile on his lips. Nang dumating ang order nila, nagsimula na silang kumain.

Napailing na lang si Serenity. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang nararamdaman niya. Napatingin siya sa sarili niyang kamay. Her hands were trembling. Inilapag niya ang hawak niyang kubyertos. Tumingin siya kay Connor. Kaagad din siyang nag-iwas ng tingin nang tumingin ito sa kaniya.

"What's the matter? Hindi ba maganda ang lasa ng pagkain?"

"It's fine. I don't know but I'm nervous. My hands is trembling," she said honestly.

Ngumiti si Connor. "Just relax yourself. Are you uncomfortable with me around?" tanong niya.

Natigilan si Serenity. Am I uncomfortable?

'No, you’re comfortable with his presence. If you are not comfortable with him then you already find an excuse to get away from him as soon as possible.'

Amira was right. Huminga siya ng malalim at tumingin kay Connor na nakatingin sa kaniya. "No." Aniya. 'I'm fine. It's just that it's my first time to meet you and talk with you. My butler told me that you were cold and ruthless. But judging from how you talk to me, I think that maybe he's wrong."

Connor chuckled. "Your butler is right. I'm indeed cold and ruthless to the people who are not close to me."

Kumunot ang nuo ni Serenity. "Close? Are we close? You're not talking to me coldly. So..."

"You're different," sabi ni Connor. He sipped his wine.

Tinignan ni Serenity ni suot na wrist watch. "I'm sorry, Mr. Greyson, but I need to go." Tumayo siya.

Tumayo na rin si Connor. "Nice to meet you, Miss Morgan. And I hope to see you again."

Bahagyang yumukod si Serenity at kinuha ang bag. Lumabas siya ng VIP room. Nang makalabas si Serenity, napangiti si Connor. Umupo siya at natawa sa kaniyang sarili.

"I finally found you and this time I won't let you go."

But fate is really tricky and unfair.
