Amethyst's POV
"You're pregnant" I muttered in shock.
Ara froze in her spot as I stood uo eith the pregnancy test on my hand.
"Amara" I said as I approached her.
Ara started crying and sobbing uncontrollably as she fell to her knees.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I didn't know it would result to this. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to" she sobbed.
I hugged my sister and caressed her back as I calmed her down.
I know I won't be able to make her explain tonight or maybe even for a few days.
But to think that she did something like this is beyond me.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry" she kept apologizing as she cried.
I lightly caressed her hair to soothe her.
"Shhhh it's okay. I'm here. I'm here, Ara" I cooed as she clung onto me as she broke down.
It took a while for her to calm down and once she did, I tucked her into bed to rest.
"You're not going to interrogate me?" she asked while her eyes are still red from crying earlier.
"Tell me when you're ready, Ara. First, you need to rest for you and the baby" I said and gave her a small smile.
"Amy" she called out softly.
"Yes?" I replied.
"I'm scared" she said and I sighed as I sat down beside her.
"It's okay to be scared. But know that I'm always here for you. Always. Okay?" I assured her and she nodded.
"Thank you" she said and I hugged her.
"No need to thank me" I said and smiled at her.
I left the lights on when I left the room since Ara hated the dark.
Then, I went to my room feeling more stressed than ever.
But I knew that no matter what reason Amara gives me, in the end, I'll stay by her side and support her.
Of course, I'll give her a scolding or two.
But I won't drive her away.
I know Ara despite the type of set up we have as siblings.
I took a deep sigh.
I showered and got ready for bed.
At some point, I'll have to tell Ady since we can't hide anything from him.
I'm sure he'll be upset.
Very upset.
But like me, he'll choose to stick with her till the very end.
I may be unfortunate with my parents but at least I have siblings like them.
I went to bed and mentally prepared myself for tomorrow.
The next days are going to be tough, I can already feel it.
Fast forward to morning...
I woke up to my alarm clock and got up immediately.
I quickly showered and got dressed for work.
I cooked some pancakes and cut up some fruits for breakfast with Ara.
I don't usually eat breakfast but since Amara is here and since I have more than just her to feed because she has a living specimen in her stomach, I couldn't let her have breakfast by herself.
As soon as Amara woke up, she came barging out of the door of the guest room and into the bathroom.
Ah...morning sickness.
What pity.
I went to the bathroom where Ara was puking in and held her hair for her.
I mentally reminded myself do some research on pregnancy and do grocery shopping later to make healthy food for her and the baby.
"I need to go to work so if you want, I'll make Celine come here to accompany you" I told her and she nodded as she cleaned her face after her morning sickness episode.
"I'd like that but isn't Celine busy?" she asked as I gave her a towel to wipe her face.
"Oh I'm sure she'd love to spend time with you and have a time off with her boyfriends" I said with a shrug and Ara giggled.
"Celine is still quite a player huh" she said and I chuckled.
"Quite a player? She's a total player. If you only know" I said as we went out of the bathroom and into the dining area.
Ara and I sat across each other.
She sniffed the pancakes and I saw her eyes sparkle with glee.
"You sure know how to spoil me, Amy" she said cheerfully and I smiled.
It was nice to see her being her usual self rather than the gloomy Amara yesterday.
"I'll tell Celine to come over but if you don't want her to know about the pregnancy, you have to be extra careful. That girl is as sharp as my kitchen knives when it comes to those things. And unlike me, she will not wait for you to be ready to tell her the details of how, when and why. She will force out an answer from you" I warned Ara and she nodded.
"I'll be extra careful" she said.
"Good" I said as I took a bite of my food.
"What time will you come home?" she asked hopeful.
"I'll be home by 5. Do you want to come with me to the grocery store? I need to buy a few things and I'm sure you do too" I said.
"Yes, please" she said with a smile.
"Okay. I'll pick you up after work and we can shop together" I said.
"Amy" she softly called out.
"Hm?" I hummed in reply.
"Will you tell Ady?" she asked.
I sighed.
"No. No, I won't. But you should" I said and Amara sighed.
"Take your time, Ara. I'm just saying that you should prepare yourself because Ady will not like it if we hide things like this from him" I said and she nodded.
"I will" she said.
I reached out for Amara's hand and gently squeezed it.
"It's going to be just fine. You have me. You also have Ady. We're here for you" I assured her and she smiled.
"I'm so lucky to have you both" she said.
"Of course you are" I said and playfully rolled my eyes making her giggle.
We finished off breakfast by talking about random things.
It was mostly about my work since I didn't want to pressure Amara in telling me anything about her baby at the moment.
I need to be patient and wait till she's ready to tell me.
"I'll have food delivered here for the both of you for lunch. Or better yet, you and Celine can go out to eat something delicious and healthy" I said.
"Okay. Come back home safely" Amara said and I nodded then gave her a hug.
"I will. Get some more rest. Celine will be here later" I said and she nodded in understanding.
"Bye! Goodluck with work!" Amara said as I waved her goodbye and got out of my unit.
I immediately dialed Celine's number and she picked up after a few rings.
"Hello? Celine speaking"
She just woke up.
As expected from her.
"Amara is at my place. Do you mind accompanying her for the day? Or maybe even two or a few?" I asked over the phone.
"Amara? How come? Since when? Why did she suddenly visit?"
"You asked too many questions. Yes, Amara. She arrived yesterday. It was very unexpected. She said she badly wanted to be with me because she missed me" I answered anyway.
"Okay. I'll be with her in an hour or two"
"Thanks. I'm heading off to work now" I said.
"Okay. Goodluck"
Then we ended the call.
I went to work like usual and worked on the designs and preparation for the fashion week.
There was still so much to do.
Celine and Ara went out to eat while I even forgot to have lunch.
At this point, its just a routine.
I finished off work as fast as I could because of Amara but if it were just a regular day, I would've worked overnight as usual.
Leaving her with Celine for too long might not be the best idea.
I love Celine but she can be a bad influence specially to my little sister.
I wouldn't want that now, would I?
I can take one Celine but two is too much.
It's enough to drive me crazy.
I got into my car and dialed Celine's number before driving back to my unit.
Celine picked up.
"Heyyy~"
"You're still with Ara, right?" I asked immediately.
"So, I don't get a 'hey' back? You're such an amazing best friend, Amethyst Wright"
I chuckled.
"Heyyy, Celine. Now, where's my sister?" I said and Celine giggled on the other line.
"She's getting ready to go out now. By the way, I can't come with the both of you since I have a dinner date planned tonight"
"Okay, good. I'll be there in 5" I told her.
"Oki! See you soon, bestie"
Then, we ended the call.
I arrived at my unit soon after and Celine opened the door for me.
"Hi, babe!" Celine greeted cheerfully and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey. How did your day went with Amara?" I asked as we go in.
"Fabulous. We went out for lunch and had a movie marathon together" she said in glee. I smiled.
"Thanks for keeping her company" I thanked her.
"Oh please. It's nothing. Ara is our sister now" she said and gave me a wink.
It's true.
To Celine, Amara is also her little sister ever since I introduced them to each other.
On the other hand, Celine has never met Adrian.
"Amy!" Amara came out of her and immediately hugged me.
"Hey. Let's go out now to the grocery store?" I said and she nodded.
"Let's go" I said to both Celine and Amara.
We got out my unit and went down to where I packed my car.
"I'll drop you off at your place" I told Celine and she shook her head.
"It's okay, babe. I have my car with me. You girls go on ahead" she said and gave me a hug. I nodded.
"Be careful" I reminded and she nodded.
"I will. Ciao!" she said and waved us goodbye.
Amara and I went in my car then we made our way to the grocery store.
"How was your day with Celine?" I asked and glanced at Amara.
"It was fun. I enjoyed being with Celine. She had so many things to talk about like her boyfriends" Amara giggled. I chuckled.
Oh Celine.
"I'm glad you had fun" I said with a smile. Amara smiled too.
"I did" she said.
I took a deep breath.
"I'll try to have a day off one of these days. We can do anything you want for the day" I told her.
I'm pretty busy these days but I'm willing to cram a little just so I can ease Amara's mind while she's here.
She doesn't say it but I know how tough this situation is for her.
"Really?" she said excitedly.
"Yes, really" I said with a smile and she squealed excitedly.
We arrived at the grocery store and started shopping.
I already did my research earlier in my office and shopped for a week worth of ingredients for Amara's food.
Ara picked out things she liked too since she has her cravings.
"Ara, I forgot to ask but where's your phone?" I asked her as we were shopping.
"I...uhm....I disabled if after I called you" she said nervously.
"That's not enough. I'm sure our parents will try to track your number and they'll see you called me. When we get home, I'll have your number's call history erased. I'll buy you a new phone and get you a new number" I said casually.
Ara looked at me stunned and I chuckled.
"Been there. Done that. It's based on experience, you know?" I said and winked at her making her laugh.
"Only Ady will know where you are for the mean time. He can handle our parents for a while so they don't send a whole community to find you" I said and she nodded.
"I'm sorry, Amy. For causing you so many troubles" Amara said apologetically. I chuckled.
"Don't be, Ara. You're my responsibility now and so is that" I said and pointed at her stomach.
Ara teared up and she hugged.
I caressed her back soothingly.
Whatever happens, I'll protect them both.
For now, this is the plan I came up with.
