Chapter 20 Ryan's Secret part 2

we arrived at my place. for the first time in years i felt comfortable brining someone to my place, especially someone of the opposite s*x.
my bachelor pad was like no other, after all i had it built to soothe my taste, it was a modern A frame log cabin, my bed room was on the top floor, fifty percent of the cabin was glass and that included my bedroom which at the moment was covered with black out curtains, the living room which was on the first floor was exposed to the eyes of the public the rest of the house was covered, i doubt anyone wanted to see me in the shower or while i cook.
i had a large outdoor patio with a state of the art grill and a beautiful ten feet pool with a hot tub included. i hope this wont be too much for a first impression on Alexis.
"Ryan, i think you are lost" she said admiring the cabin
"no babe, i am not lost" i assured her "this is my place" i said pulling into the drive way.
i parked the car and got out of the house not giving her time to question me, after all i brought her here to talk to her and confess the secret i have been keeping from her.
i opened the door for her and took Ben out of his car seat.
she giggled, "i cant believe you actually installed a car seat in your jeep for Ben" she said
"why wouldn't I" i asked
"if i want to be able to take you guys around is better i get a car seat instead of having to take the one in your car out back and forth.
"i guess you have a point" she said
we walked up to the house and i entered the security code into the pad and the door opened.
"welcome to my home" i said as we walked in
i took her hand and led her into the living room.
"wait for me" i said and kissed her forehead
i took Ben into my game room and gave him a few Lego blocks to play with, i even put the tv in on in case he got bored.
i made my way back into the living room where i left Alexis, she was walking around checking out my collection of books.
"i didn't know you like reading" she said as i approached her
"i love reading" i answered "reason why i became a doctor"
"so what are we going to have for dinner" she asked
"i was thinking that you could help me cook" i confessed
"no mister, you promise Ben and I dinner and i refuse to help you" she answered
i smiled "ok, ok, i will cook, but come and keep me company" i said
after a few hours dinner was served, i took her and Ben out to the patio and served them dinner.
i sat next to her and poured her some red wine.
we ate dinner and had dessert after we sat in the living room and talked, while Ben returned to playing.
"Alex, i needed you here because i need to talk to you about some things i have been keeping from you" i said
"i want you to listen to me carefully and understand that i didn't mean to hide anything from you, i just needed time to know you before springing anything on you".
"Ryan you are scaring me" she said
"its nothing to be worried about but it is something i need to tell you" i told her
"Ryan, i need you to tell me what you have to say and get it over with" she said
she was anxious and i couldn't blame her.
"my parents own the Blue mountain hotel" i said "yes they are doctors and so were their parents but they also have money"
i could see the color draining from her face.
" i knew it, i knew something was wrong with you when i told you this morning about beginning to work tomorrow at the hotel" she raised her voice
"why didn't you tell me from the beginning that you owned the hotel" she demanded "you knew i was hired to work there from the beginning and you choose to stay quite, Why?"
"i don't own the hotel Alex, my parents do" i said "and i didn't say anything because i didn't want to scare you off"
"Ryan am i a game to you" she asked "what are really your intensions with me"
"WHAT?" i asked outraged and her accusations "i would never play with you"
"look i know i was not completely honest from the start and i am not just saying this now because of you starting to work at the hotel, but i am doing it because i really care about you, more than you expect and i don't want you finding this out by anyone else at anytime during this relationship and mess it all up". i told her
" i don't know Ryan, what you told me is too much to take in" she responded
"if your parents own the place i am going to begging working in, i doubt they will want me dating their son" she whispered
i took her in my arms, i could no longer able to see the worried look in her eyes.
"my parents own the hotel and yes they have money a lot of it, but i that's one of the reasons i have segregated myself from them" i said
"i want nothing to do with their money, i have made a career for myself and have been doing very well" i declared
" Alexis i haven't seen my parents in months and i don't intend to see them anytime soon" i said
she finally eased and let me wrapped her in my arms.
"Ryan can you take me home" she asked "i would really like to go home now, i think this is too much for one night"
i wanted to argue with her, but instead i gave in.
"alright" i agreed "i will take you and Ben home, but please forgive me for not telling you earlier about my parents"
she loosed her self out of my arms and gathered her belongings while i went for Ben.
the day had started out really bad but i was not expecting it to end worse.
i dropped Alexis and Ben off at her house and made my way to the hospital to check on the baby, as i was driving away i could see Alexis peeking out through her window, i could tell she was sad and scared and that bothered me a lot.
