The cold night turned chilly as Sadie searched left and right as she hugged herself as a means of comfort. She felt that awful feeling once again. She stared at the smartphone she dropped on the ground and felt relieved that it was not smashed into pieces because of the fall. She closed her eyes and hoped that her phone can still be used to call someone. She was about to crouch down to retrieve it when she felt a hand on her shoulder. Her frightened shriek would have woken everyone in the area if not for the hand that muffled her scream.
“Sadie, it’s me. Shhh.” She relaxed when she heard Mason’s voice and then turned and hugged him. Making it obvious that she’s relieved that he found her.
