“What is happening to you?”
It was a good question. Even I wasn’t sure anymore. After I disappeared into the forest and lost touch with reality, I had no idea what had transpired. I wasn’t sure if I had left the territory or stayed within its bounds. What I did know was that days had passed, and I hadn’t shifted back even once.
“I don’t know,” I whispered.
“Hunter will be here in two days,” Valerio said. “I can’t have you on edge like this.”
I nodded slowly. “Then I guess you should let me leave.”
“Not like you aren’t going to do it anyway, even if I tell you not to,” he growled.
I didn’t respond. I just stood there, shifting my eyes between him and the ground. What could I say?
