-Garrett- “My arm is already feeling better. Not that I mind having my beautiful mate taking care of me,” I teased as Lily handed me a cup of coffee and set a tray of breakfast on the bedside table. The warmth of the food and her presence made my heart swell—I truly had the best mate in the world. “I know. I heard what Jane said,” Lily replied, taking a sip from her own cup of coffee. But it was clear that Jane’s report hadn’t entirely eased her worries. My arm would be completely healed in a few days. Thanks to Lily, I was eating well again, giving my body the fuel it needed to recover. “Lily, come here,” I urged, gesturing for her to come closer. She shook her head, clearly thinking I needed space, which made me roll my eyes at my caring mate. If she wanted to be difficult, so be it
