Chapter 6 Within a week, Baz and Cody had fallen into a routine of sorts, which began every morning with Baz taking Cody outdoors so they could relieve themselves. This was followed by a visit to the river to bathe. After breakfast, which could be anything from berries, fried onion and potato pancakes, to eggs, and even fish, Baz would secure Cody, binding his wrists and ankles, and then go hunting, more often than not returning with either a rabbit or a duck. He told Cody he used snares to catch rabbits, and a handmade bow and arrow to kill ducks.
