Cody enjoyed his new freedom. After almost a fortnight of being tethered to Baz, or to the wall, it felt strange to be able to go wherever he wanted. Although, it was difficult not to notice Baz’s watchful eye upon him as he went about his daily chores. After lunch one day, Baz busied himself with the task of making new arrows for hunting. There wasn’t much else to do and Cody was lying on the bed. He became enthralled watching the dexterity with which Baz cut the duck feathers to make the fletching, and later with the precision he demonstrated attaching the fletching to the shaft. “Probably not very professional,” said Baz.
