Chapter Three: forget that my goods even exist.
°°________________°°
I snap out of my thoughts and thank the stars above me that me acting ridiculous and like an entire wuss was just a depiction created by my mind to envisage how he could possibly react.
And I have a feeling the image was a bit too accurate.
"Are you questioning how I am dressed? It is a chilly night, you are the one that needs to "hide the goods" and forget that my goods even exist."
I make air quotes as I imitate him and the smooth voice he was using when questioning me.
His face changes and I am not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I just know that he is near impossible to read, even when it looks like all his thoughts are written on his face at the same time.
"It is all going to come off anyway, and I have pure Lycan blood coursing through my veins. The weather equals s**t to me." he is leaning back on his seat, making this look like such an effortless thing to him and I try to ignore the fact that he is still in the whole Lycan character...
I am more concerned about what he said first. He is dreamy, it's true, but he is quite the dreamer too if he thinks anything that involves his clothes coming off is happening with me tonight.
Unless he is referring to me strangling him with his own shirt or pants after he offends me!
"nothing is coming off, if I insinuated anything along those lines, you need to get it out of your head." I admit and he just keeps giving me a flat stare, like he is looking into my soul and waiting for me to crack under his heavy eye contact.
I would not not lie, he sure makes it hard for me to think clearly when he is looking at me like that.
I hope you are not getting self-conscious over the stranger, Jules!
Gosh! Me sometimes!
"listen, uhmmm.." I get stuck as I try to recall his name. Did they even mention what his name is?
His mouth falls open as he feigns shock before shaking his head.
"the name is Ryan, babydoll. Ryan Engler.I know you did not really forget, but that is fine. I do not grace many with my voice so they are always looking for tactics to get it out of me." I will not lie...his voice is just how I like them, deep yet smooth and so well articulated. I will give him that at least, he could be putting it to use instead of wasting his time pretending to be something he is not!
I try to crack my head thinking of what four deluded brains could have said to him but it is impossible. At least not while I am seated across him and he is making it hard for me to function!
It is time to put an end to this.
"no, I really did forget because you were not talking to me, my pictures were used to create this profile on that sham of an app. Amelia, she did this, she found it and thought it would be f*****g amazing to sign me up and wow! They took it far, I should have never let them sign me up, actually, I should have let Tracey come here instead because she was so mesmerised by you and... "
By the time I realise how off course I have gone, he is laughing to himself like I am insane.
I must have sounded insane because I just got so heated when it hit me just how unjust it is that I am here trying to make sure a potential psychopath forgets about me when I had f**k all to do with this entire situation!
"All I am saying is-"
"is what? You talk too much, baby. Let's just get out of here because this is not what I signed up for!" he not only interrupts me, but he stares into his gold, expensive ass looking watch to emphasise his point.
"I have never talked so much on a date, my place or my car? You decide."
My head shoots back as his cockiness comes to full display! Now he is acting a lot more like he looks!
"Wow! Your head is bigger than I thought." I shake my head before finally leaning back agaisnt the seat and crossing my arms.
"I am not the girl you think I am, Mr Ryan Engler!" I make sure my point comes across firmly as I keep my eyes locked with his.
I try to analyse his face and figure out what he could be thinking but we both get distracted by one of the waitresses walking over to our little table.
"Uhmmm.. Hey." she cannot even keep her face straight or her hands from trembling.
I get it, he is a sight worth drooling over, but could she be a bit less obvious? Especially since I am literally sitting next to him and her first assumption should be that he is my boyfriend!
"Would you like to order anything? You have been here for quite some time." she manages to word out without stuttering and I mentally congratulate her.
"No. We will be heading out soon, thank you for the offer, madam." my eyes go wide as he changes his tone when saying that last word.
He is clearly making her aware that she is way too old for him, and it is not hidden at all that she noticed.
"Well, here is the thing, you cannot be sitting here on our tables, yapping away without actually buying something!" she suddenly gets hostile and all he can do is smirk before directing his attention towards me.
"What do you want, sweet cakes?" he questions and I honestly do not have an appetite right now, but I know the rule so I just ask her to get me a slice of carrot cake and a hot chocolate.
She writes the order down before giving him a glare one last time and walking away.
