She was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I could feel Silver pacing beneath the surface, looking at her bruises, the dirt covering her face, her body before he sniffed out that she was pregnant.
Mate didn't wait for us? He screamed.
Hold up man, you don't know what she's been through before she met us! Thats ridiculous. You can see, as I can, that she's been through hell. Clearly, she is not alright. maybe this baby is why she's so abused-looking.
Whatever. Call the others, they will want to know about a rogue on the pack-lands. Let me know if you need me.
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of anger towards Silver's callousness. How could he be so insensitive towards her? But I knew he was just trying to protect our pack. I had to make him understand that we couldn't just abandon her. He knew it, as well as I did, that this woman was our mate and we couldn't just abandon the gift from Selena.
Silver, wait. We can't just leave her here. We have to help her, I said to him, trying my best to keep my voice calm.
Silver glared at me. Help her? She's a rogue, Gabriel. We can't just take her in.
But she's pregnant, Silver. She needs our help. We can't just turn our backs on her, plus, if you were in your right mind, you'd sense she's just a human. I pleaded with him, hoping he would see reason.
Silver hesitated for a moment, his gaze flickering towards the woman, then back to me before he stalked off into the dark recesses of my mind. Fine. But we have to be careful. We don't know what kind of trouble she might bring.
I nodded. I understand. I'll take care of her.
Holding her close to my body, I felt relief, peace... electricity. She was beautiful. Beautiful ivory skin, smooth to the touch with a twinge of red on her cheeks. Her lips were plump, her hair dark and luscious. I don't care that she's a human, she's MY human. I'll be damned if that stubborn wolf keeps us apart.
I carried her back to our pack's infirmary, where our healer, Jasmine, was waiting. She gasped when she saw the woman in my arms, quickly taking her from me and placing her on a bed.
"What happened to her?" Jasmine questioned, taking inventory of the bruises and scars on the woman's body.
"I don't know. Silver smelled that she's pregnant, so we brought her here to get looked at," I explained, my eyes never leaving the woman's unconscious form.
Jasmine nodded, getting to work on examining and treating the woman's injuries. As she worked, I couldn't help but feel a pull towards her. It was like there was a magnetic force between us, drawing me closer to her.
"You know, Gabriel," Jasmine spoke up, breaking me out of my thoughts. "There's something about her scent. It's like...I can't quite put my finger on it."
"What do you mean?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"Well, it's like...it's sweet, but with a hint of danger, I've smelled it before, but I can't remember or place it. Like she's been through a lot, but she's still fighting," Jasmine explained, a frown creasing her features.
I nodded, understanding what she meant. This woman was a fighter, and I knew that I would do everything in mypower to make sure she never had to fight alone again. As Jasmine finished up, I approached the woman's side, taking her hand in mine.
"She's going to be okay, right?" I asked, trying to keep the worry out of my voice.
Jasmine smiled reassuringly. "She's a tough one. With some rest and care, she should be just fine."
"Thank you, Jasmine," I said, grateful for her help.
As Jasmine left the room, I stayed by the woman's side, just watching her sleep. I couldn't explain the intensity of my feelings for her, but I knew one thing for sure: I would do everything in my power to protect her and her unborn child from any harm that may come their way.
After what felt like hours, the woman stirred, her eyes slowly flickering open. She looked around, confused, before finding me by her side.
"Who are you?" she asked, her voice hoarse from disuse.
"My name is Gabriel. I'm an Alpha in the local pack. You're safe here. We're going to take care of you," I reassured her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
Her eyes widened slightly, but then she relaxed, a small smile gracing her lips. "Thank you."
"What's your name?"
She hesitated. "I...I don't know if I can trust you enough to give you that."
"Can you at least tell me where you came from? Or what happened to you?"
'I..." she broke down in tears. Silver stirred inside of me at the sight and we rushed to embrace her.
"Shhh, it's okay, you're safe now. I'll never let anyone hurt you again, okay? We aren't like that here."
"Why did you call me your mate? I thought you were him?"
She looked up at me with haunted eyes.
My throat suddenly dried up, "um...you're our mate..."
"No... please God no, this can't be happening again."Her words hit me like a ton of bricks.
"Again?" I asked, confused.
She shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I can't...I can't talk about it," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Not yet."
I knew that pushing her would only make things worse, so I decided to change the subject. "It's okay," I said, hoping to offer her some comfort. "You don't have to talk about it right now. We'll take care of you and your baby, and you can stay here for as long as you need to."
Her tears slowed a bit as she looked into my eyes, and I could see that she was slowly starting to trust me. "Thank you," she whispered. "I don't know what I would do without your help."
I smiled at her, and could feel myself starting to fall for her, not just because of the mate bond, but because this woman was just beautiful. This woman was strong, resilient, and more than anything, she deserved to be loved and protected. And I was going to do just that.
As the night wore on, I stayed by her side, holding her hand and watching over her as she slept. And though I knew that the road ahead would be long and difficult, I also knew that with her by my side, I could face anything that came our way. I should call the others.
Roman, Nikolai, we have a situation, mind stopping by the pack hospital please?
On it, boss. Nikolai responded
Don't call him that, we are all equal, Roman scoffed.
I just chuckled. They were the best brothers to be tied too. Not brothers by biology, but brothers in blood, brothers in arms, brothers in morality. We chose to head this pack, the three of us, instead of duelling for control, as our fathers did before us. We are the Alpha Trio.
When Roman and Nikolai arrived at the hospital while I watched her as she slept. Imagine my surprise when they both blurted out "mate", at the same time.
"The f**k she is," Silver growled.
"She's my mate dude, I can feel it." Roman said, moving towards her.
In a flash, I grabbed his arm and pinned him to the wall, just in time for Nikolai to make his move towards her. Sweeping his leg from under him, I held my foot on his back.
"She is mine." Silver snarled loudly. The room fell silent as we all stared at each other, a tense energy filling the air. I could feel Silver's possessiveness over her, but I also knew that Roman and Nikolai wouldn't back down easily either.
"Let's take a step back," I said firmly, releasing Roman and Nikolai from my grasp. "We don't need to fight over her."
Roman took a step towards me, his eyes still fixed on the woman laying in the hospital bed. "But she's mine," he growled. "I can feel it in my bones."
"I understand that, but we can't just claim her without her consent," I said, trying to reason with him, while simultaneously fighting Silver back from resurfacing. "We need to talk to her, find out what she wants."
We all turned to look at the woman, who was now awake and watching us intently. She sat up in the bed, holding the blanket close to her chest. "What's going on?" she asked, her voice soft but steady.
Silence filled the room as we all tried to figure out who would speak first. Finally, Roman stepped forward. "I'm sorry, we didn't mean to scare you," he said, his voice gentle. "But we all feel a strong connection to you, and we wanted to know..."
"We wanted to know which one of us you want, you know? I don't care that you're pregnant, I'll call that baby mine and no one will know the difference," Nikolai smiled seductively, wiggling his eyebrows at her while I sighed in exasperation.
The woman looked from Roman to Nikolai, then to me. "I...I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just found out I was pregnant and I don't know what to do or where to go."
"It's okay," I said, stepping forward. "You don't have to make any decisions right now. We're here to protect you and your baby, no matter what."
The woman looked at me, her eyes filled with confusion and a hint of fear. "But...the mate bond," she said, her voice trailing off.
"We can work through that," I said, trying to reassure her. "We want what's best for you and your baby, and we'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're safe and happy."
Silence fell over the room as we all looked at each other, each of us holding in the intense desire to claim her as our own. I could feel the tension building, the urge to give into our primal instincts almost overwhelming.
But then, the woman spoke up.
"I...I don't know what to do," she said, her voice hesitant. "I just need some time to think."
"Take all the time you need," I said, reaching out to take her hand. "We'll be here for you, whatever you decide."
She nodded, looking down at her hand in mine. "Thank you," she said softly.
We stood there for a few more moments, each lost in our own thoughts. I knew that this situation was far from over, and that there was still a lot of talking that needed to be done. But for now, all that mattered was making sure that she was safe and that she knew that we were there for her.
As the night wore on, I stayed by her side, watching over her as she slept. And though I didn't know what the future held for us, I knew that I was ready to face it with her by my side, no matter what.
