Maddison
“What? No, I didn’t . . . do anything?” I said, shaking.
“Stop it, Andrew!” Hannah stood up. “You can’t just blame anyone whoever you like. Maddison has done nothing against you, and yet, you hate her so much. Jerk!”
Andrew scoffed. “Oh yeah? Why are you protecting her? She’s an orphan, isn’t she? She doesn’t even know where she came from?”
“So what if she’s an orphan?” Olivia stood up. “What does it matter to you?”
“Seriously? You’re defending her now when you used to hate her too?” Andrew moved towards Olivia and faced her with his towering frame. “Since when did you become friends? Ah, I remember . . . cheering competition! When your parents were not there to support you and no one in our class was there for you, you saw her among the audience, isn’t it?”
Arthur stood up, placing himself between Olivia and Andrew.
‘Stop it, man. Stop it,” Arthur said, making Andrew glare at me.
“Our school shouldn’t accept students coming from charitable institutions. All of us come from prominent families, and no one has the right to step on the ground of my family’s property,” Andrew said, pointing at everyone before giving me one last look.
“Everyone, go back to your places,” Mrs. Shaw said calmly before putting her glasses back on. “This is not the time for tantrums. We are in the middle of an unexpected weather situation. Turned out the weather was not on our side after all.”

Maddison
Earlier
I suddenly found myself alone in the woods; confused and afraid. The rain was pouring heavily, and the wind was howling enough to sway me as I walked. I stopped in my tracks when I heard someone groaning and moaning. I could hear my heart thumping in my chest as I followed the voice’s direction and saw Erin, leaning against a tree with a guy I couldn’t recognize who was pumping on her.
I took a deep breath with a mix of relief and disgust as I slowly walked away, leaving them in a heightening sound of intense pleasure. As I was a few meters away searching for my way back to the camp, Erin screamed at the top of her voice. I knew it wasn’t o****m anymore so I rushed back to their spot. I tried to run as fast as I could but, to my dismay, I didn’t catch her alive. I was terrified to see her covered with blood. Her face was deformed as if attacked by a wild animal. Her stomach was opened, bursting her intestines all over. Horrified, I moved my steps backwards and met a red-eyed beast when I turned back. It scared the hell out of me that I immediately ran for my life, but the beast caught me. It attacked me, leaving deep lashes on my face and arms. Strangled on the ground, I screamed at the top of my lungs for help, but the heavy rain got worse, and it seemed like no one could ever hear me.
Suddenly, my nails turned into sharp long claws, and my eyes turned white as reflected in the beast’s eyes. Without wasting any moment, I dug my claws into the beast’s chest and ripped its heart out, making its blood splat in my face before its body fell on to the ground.
I realized I was smiling devilishly at the beast like a madman brought back to his senses. I looked at my arms and was frightened to see them healing so fast. I touched my face, and I could only feel it smooth and fine.
“Hello Amara,” the lifeless beast said. “It’s good to finally see you.”
I knew the beast was dead, but it suddenly moved and stood up like a tower. Screaming, I ran in fear towards nowhere as the beast followed me.
“You will never get away from me, Amara. I shall kill you,” the beast said.
“Help me! Help me! Help me!” I cried repeatedly.
“Maddie, it’s me. Wake up. You’re dreaming,” Hannah said, shaking my body.
I looked around me and felt relieved to see my friends and familiar faces.
“Here.” Kesha, one of the campers, offered me a glass of water.
I gladly took the glass of water and gulped all its contents while everybody was looking at me curiously.
“Thanks,” I said, handing the glass back to Kesha. She nodded in response.
“Are you alright?” Arthur asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” My voice was shaking.
“Take some rest, okay?” Hannah said. “Don’t mind, Andrew. He’s just being himself. A jerk, you know,” she whispered, shrugging.
I could only smile at her words.. Being bullied had always been my life ever since, and Andrew was one of those instances that I had been used to. My tears were so close to flowing from my eyes when hearing kindness from people who treated me like a human being. Well, I thought I was human to begin with. I was wrong.

“I’ll take care of the child. Go back to the secret cabin, Ambrosia. I’ll keep Amara safe,” Charlotte said.
“Please take care of my daughter. She’s all I have,” Ambrosia kissed her daughter goodbye. “We shall meet again, my daughter. Goodbye for now.”
“Charlotte! Give me the child!” Gorgon’s voice could be heard around the woods. “You can never hide from me forever. I can taste your blood rushing through your veins from here!”
“They’re here. Go!” Charlotte said. “I shall see you at dawn. Run, quick!”
Ambrosia ran away with tears in her eyes. She couldn’t leave her daughter behind, but she had to keep her away from danger. Charlotte ran as fast as she could as she searched for a perfect place to open the gateway to the future, but the vampires chasing her were undoubtedly fast, almost catching her. Realizing there wasn't much time left, Charlotte opened the tunnel ahead of her, draining her powers.
“Apertum!” she said loudly.
The baby was within the hungry red-eyed monsters’ reach that she had to throw the baby into the tunnel and close it immediately.
“Pressim!” she said with her hands still raised in the air.
When the tunnel closed, the vampires caught her just in time and sank their fangs into her flesh and feasted on her blood.
“How foolish of you to sacrifice yourself for a child, Charlotte,” Gorgon said, watching the powerful witch being devoured by the hungry vampires.
At the cabin, Ambrosia waited for Charlotte’s return. The dawn turned into night, but her friend never came back. She tried to look for her despite the threatening danger only to learn about Charlotte's tragic death. Angered, she vowed to avenge her and went to see Lilith, the witch of the witches. She opened herself to learn sorcery and awaken her dormant powers. She spent centuries practicing magic, almost depleting her strength to completely open the supernatural doorway for her powers to flow naturally on its own. When her powers finally awakened, she prepared herself to face Gorgon.
“I shall meet you, Gorgon. I shall kill you with my own bare hands, and I shall never ever stop until you beg me for mercy. You shall taste my revenge. I shall let you pay for taking everything away from me!"

Ambrosia chanted a magic incantation repeatedly and raised her voice each time. As she uttered the last repetition aloud, she raised her hands before a sea of fire instantly burst around her as her eyes turned black.
