Paul moved into Sara’s old trailer a month later. He fit right in with the tenants, and we got along just fine as friends and lovers. It seemed to be in the cards that we would be a couple someday, maybe even forever. But what we had now was more than adequate for me. I took Paul to meet Joey at the rehab center. My brother, usually so laidback, drilled my lover about everything under the sun, giving me a glimpse of the way he had probably been when he was in the army.
