Zayd watched the back of Lilyan's head, smiling to himself. Her raven hair had streaks of blue where the moonlight shone on it. It was a wonder that he had ended up in his current predicament. He wasn't supposed to have interacted with her in the first place. Now here he was, lying behind her on a tiny mattress in her poor excuse of a room with only a small blanket and a few inches of cool air between them.
