Chapter 4Once he was ensconced in his truck with the heat blowing full blast, Lloyd dug out his cell phone and pulled up Doug’s number. His thumb hovered over the SEND button. Doug was probably driving and wouldn’t answer. Or what if he tried to answer and ran off the road? Besides, Lloyd wasn’t sure his current mood would help matters any. Being ditched stung, and being ditched twice…well, all he could say was Doug better have some damn good reason for running out on him again, or their budding relationship was over before it even began.
Lloyd didn’t trust himself not to go off if Doug answered the phone. Where the hell are you? would be the first words out of his mouth, and any conversation they had would go downhill from there.
