Chapter 31

The moment we enter the mansion the maids are lined as if they are waiting for someone really important, someone like a VIP I guess? Well, I am quite sure it wasn’t me.

I looked at Drake who looks like a happy kid right now.

“You guys have a visitor?” I asked him.

He just looked at me as if asking me what I was trying to say.

“I was just asking, why are they lined up there? It looks weird.” I told him and shrugged.

“Well, don’t you have your maids lined up like that?” he enthusiastically asked.

I just shrugged. Ewan ko, I spent most of my life in the condominium my Dad gave me since I was a kid. I barely even go to the mansion. I don’t want any trouble with Tita Yelena, and besides I don’t think my dad even want me there. I only go there if it is really really necessary.

And when I say necessary, it means its really necessary.

“I invited my Abuela and Abuelo to meet you.” Drake said after a while.

I was caught of guard and looked at him sharply as I sit down to their grand sofa.

“What did you say?” I irritatedly asked him.

He just gave me his infamous smile wiggled his irritating eyebrows.

“Just stay here aright? I’ll just get my books, and then let’s eat first.” He said then went up stairs to get his things.

I looked around and realized how beautiful this mansion is, even though its big it feels and looks warm.

I guess three minutes have already passed and boredom striked me already, I decided to get up and check the picture frames in their hall.

There are a lot of pictures in here! And when I say a lot it means a whole lot! Ang dami!

Siguro this pictures came from different generations, I can see also a picture of a man with Doughlas McArthur. This is the reason why the Lacson clan has always been considered as one of the wealthiest and most influential clan in the country, mukhang sinaunang panahon palang eh talagang mayaman na sila.

I was busy looking at the pictures when I saw a very cute little monster. I think this is Drake, I’m sure this is him! Oh God! He looks so adorable! He is in his pajamas, and slippers it looks like he just got out of the bed but was already riding in his horse, may ribbon pa yung kabayo nya so I think this is a gift to him.

His smile is really fascinating! He looks so happy, I really envy him. Parang napaka-saya ng childhood nya, samantalang ako inubos ko yung kabataan ko trying to win my Dad but at the end of the day, I am still that illegitimate unwanted child.

I bitterly smile.

“You look so beautiful, yet so sad.” A voice of a woman suddenly said.

I didn’t heard her footsteps, maybe I was too busy thinking that I didn’t notice her. This woman looks so kind, she’s beautiful and classy but looks so serene.

“Oh, thankyou po. But I’m not sad po, I am perfectly fine.” I told her and smile.

She smiled at me and pointed her finger on Drake’s picture.

“He looks so adorable hano? Drake is just six years old at this time,” she said.

“He was a very happy kid, everyone thinks that Drake was such a lucky kid but they didn’t know that my child went through so much just to survive. He’s a cancer survivor.” She said that made me really shocked.

“You know my son never tells anyone about it, bata palang sya hindi nya na gusto na malaman ng iba yung kalagayan nya not because he’s ashamed of it but because he doesn’t want anybody pitying him. He is a very strong willed kid, at that time I was already losing my sanity, I can see how hard it is for him. Pero Drake fought and he wins.” She proudly says.

I looked at her and really feels amazed with what I heard but at the same time it feels weird to know those things. I didn’t know why she tells me all of this.

“Oh! My bad! Hindi manlang pala ako nakapag-pakilala! I forgot to introduce myself Iha I am very sorry, pasensya kana ha kasi minsan minsan lang magdala ng kaibigan dito itong si Drake kaya na-overwhelmed ako nung nakita kita, I am very sorry!” She apologizingly said as she guided me to her queen corner.

I think this is her corner, I can see a lot of books and girly stuffs in here. I also see a huge portrait of her. She looks so elegant.

“Nothing to worry about Mrs. Lacson, ayos lang po,” nakangiti kong sagot sa kanya.

She smiled genuinely, and called a maid for a tea.

“is tea okay with you or perhaps you want another drink?” she asked.

“Tea is fine with me po.” Nakangiti ko ding sagot sa kanya.

This woman feels so kind, and I really find her so beautiful! Ang gang din ng pakiramdam ko sa kanya.

“You can call me Tita, don’t be shy.” Naka ngiti nyang sabi sa akin while pouring my cup a tea.

“Okay po Tita, hehehe uhm ka-schoolmate po ako ni Drake but were on different colleges, nagpapatulong lang po sana sya sa akin sa isang subject kaya po ako nandito, I am very sorry for my short notice din po,” naka ngiti ko ding sagot sa kanya.

“Actually Drake told me, he wants the whole mansion to be cleaned pati nga ako sinabihan nya na I should look presentable enough to his visitor! Akala ko nga talaga eh mag-uuwi na sya ng girlfriend! Oh well, I really thought that you are his girlfriend iha, my bad,” natatawang sagot nya sa akin.

Drake’s mom is far different from tita Yelena, she feels warm and kind.

“Nako Tita, no po hehe actually I just lost a game with him and your stubborn and irritating son wanted me to tutor him as payment for my loss,” dirediretso kong sabi sa kanya.

I even forgot that she’s Drake’s mom, I unconsciously covered my mouth. Hindi ko na nahabol yung mga sinabi ko.

She just laughed as if I said a very hilarious thing.

“Oh God! You are such a lady! I like you Avrielle, I really do.” Tumatawang sagot nya sa akin.

“Hehehe im sorry po, pero like what I said earlier, we were schoolmates, not friends.” I said again trying to recall everything I said earlier.

Totoo naman wala naman akong sinabing friends kami ni Drake.

“ I really like you iha! Hahaha!” she laughed more and hold my hand.

“You are so beautiful and I can see through you, you are also kind. But I think that youre a little lonely, I hope we can be friends if you don’t want to be Drake’s ofcourse haha!” she said while laughing.

I couldn’t help but feel so light about her, she is one of the most genuine person I know, kahit kaka kilala palang naming dalawa parang ang tagal tagal na namin na magka-kilala.

“Ofcourse po Tita, haha you’re much more beautiful than I am!” I exclaimed I think I already have a girl crush on her.

“You look like in your thirthies tita,” I said to her.

“ I actually thought you are Drake’s sister. You are very lovely po.” nakangiti kong puri sa kanya.

She happily tapped my arm as if I said the most funniest thing.

“Bolera kang bata ka, but you know I was a model when I was at your age. Nagstop lang ako nung nagkasakit na si Drake and he needs my full attention but I am really passionate about modelling.” Kwento ni Tita.

“Oh I am also into modelling po! Actually I have a casting this afternoon to attend to kaya po maaga akong nagpunta dito to help Drake with his lessons,” kwento ko din sa kanya.

“Oh my! I remember so many memories!” nakangiting sabi nya.

“You can come po if you like Tita?” I asked her.

I never had anyone with me during my castings aside from my team,

“Really?! Are you inviting me?!” she said while beaming.

I nodded and smiled at her.

She hugged me said how excited she is, she is really an amazing woman!

So this is what it feels to have someone to be with you? It kind of feels weird but maybe just because I wasn’t used to it.

It is weird but good.
