Odell wasn't the only one with required press. Massy press run for the Olympics had officially begun, along with games for The Flash, other than magazines she had personal interviews and commercials to tend too, agreeing to take part in one of the many "You're Not The Same Without The Game" NFL commercials they had running, to get people ready for the starting season. "Look at the size of that thing! Giiirrrllll!" Alexa said teasing Massy while she fixed the back of Massy's hair. She pulled a paddle brush from her tool belt that was secured around her waist holding multiple beauty tools. She had become her personal makeup and hairstylist since working with her for her EA FIFA dinner. "How do you not have arthritis right now!?" "You are so dramatic." Massy said rolling her eyes. "It's not even that big!" Alexa rolled her eyes. "Girl. To me, that's a house and a car note. That thing is covered in diamonds... Every damn inch of it!" "I hate you so much!" Massy said back trying to hold in her laughter. Since her engagement, she had normally taken her ring off to do public events to avoid anyone asking about it. The set cleared and she stood in the center of the replicated football field. It was another one of those athlete commercials with horrible acting, however, Massy wasn't half bad. The cameras rolled and she held her phone up and. "@Donny_2k tweeted. I'm going out on a limb this year and picking my fantasy football team based on astrology. My linebacker should be a Taurus." Massy then looked at the camera and gave her best professional face. "That's right Donny, picking a linebacker based of his zodiac sign is key NFL Draft Day decision making, because God forbid your quarterback be a Virgo and not a Pisces. It's ok Donny, we understand. You're not the same without the game... Oh, and by the way. I heard Capricorns absolutely despise turf." Massy began laughing as she made fun of herself and called her own zodiac sign out. "I definitely added that last part in." "No! That was perfect!" The director said laughing and putting his hand up for a high five. "Thank you again, I know we got you last minute, but you're the best for doing it." He said pulling her into a hug. Massy hugged him back. "Of course, it's not a problem at all! I love you guys!" NFL: even our favorite Soccer player @MassyAriasII isn't the same without the game. We had to remind her that she's a Forward and not a Wide Receiver. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Massy still wasn't done, her next interview took place just across the street in the Good Morning America studios. The two-hour interview was apart of a successful show titled "in The Game" that was created by well respected new broadcaster and Breast Cancer survivor Robin Roberts. It was more like going into the evening, yet the sun was still up, but the studio was quiet and dimly lit, equipment lined the walls, interns weren't running around to drop off morning coffee, people weren't lined up outside waiting for their chance to wave at the camera. Massy walked into the large room two chairs faced one another, the camera off to the right side of the room ready to film. "Hello, gorgeous! How are you!?" Robin stood up and placed her cards on her chair, her 5'10 frame pulled Massy into a hug. "I'm nervous." Massy quietly said with a smile. "What!? Now, why would you be nervous!?" Massy laughed. "Because it's you!" She pointed at Robin as if Robin didn't know who Robin was. "Oh stop it! Don't you try and flatter me!" She rubbed Massy's shoulder and finally let go and sat down. Grabbing her cards and holding them in front of her. "23 years old, three-time MVP, Golden Cleat award winner, World Cup winner, 27 goals, one of six US players to ever score five goals in one international game, broke your own record... What do you do now? What's next?" Massy smiled and took a deep breath not realizing she had done that much. "A gold medal hopefully. That is on my mind right now. Gotta get the gold." "From the time you started playing soccer to this point right now. What's your favorite memory of the game." Massy took no time to answer. "Winning the World Cup. I think I cried... Like there's a picture of me on the internet holding the trophy like I just gave birth to it, holding it like it's my child and crying." Both Massy and Robin began laughing. "Was this season everything you imagined? With everything you've done in a rookie season?" "Uhhmmm, it was more than I could imagine, truly more. I just remember being out of town and out of the country away at all these soccer camps when I was younger, and I remember calling my mom balling my eyes out over the phone telling her I wanted to come home, and that I didn't want to do this anymore. And she would just tell me it'll all be worth it, you're going to be great, you just have to finish what you started. And she was right." Robin smiled wide. "Mom was right!" Massy nodded her head yes rolling her eyes up to the ceiling. "Go ahead and turn to the camera and say that." Massy turned her head. "Mom, you were right." She playfully said not wanting to admit it. "You're someone who is extremely outspoken. Turf was the big battle during the World Cup games. You and six other players sued FIFA for what you all said was s*x discrimination. What leads to it? Had it gotten to a point where it was no longer tolerable?" "Not to downplay the men but, the men didn't make it to the World Cup, they were eliminated first round. Yet all their games were played on grass. Not only did we win the World Cup for the third time, the only team to have done that, but we brought in more money and more viewers for the first time ever, compared to the men. So for FIFA to see all this yet still have us play on turf is a punch in the face to all of us. Turf hurts, you can't slide on it, it'll remove layers of your skin, you know? That turf heats up, it's different on your feet, and it's harder on your body you fall on it and you'll feel it." Her interview continued and stayed clear of her relationship with Odell until the very end. Massy loved that Robin didn't put focus on their relationships like most interviews she would have had to physically tell them ahead of time to not ask about Odell and to focus on her and her profession, she understood why Odell was so picky with interviews and barley did them, why he hated talking to the media and had skipped out on a few press day conferences, she understood why he was so boring off the field. If it wasn't about sports Odell didn't bother with it. "You and Odell are quite the match, quite the athletic gold mine." Robin finally said before ending the interview. Massy frowned in confusion and looked at Robin. "Who is he?" She playfully said keeping a serious face for as long as she could. Robin leaned forward and began laughing she too not able to keep serious. "No, he's amazing, he's truly my best friend, he's everything I could ask for more. I'm extremely proud of him and everything he's done and accomplished. You know he's extremely lucky to have me." Massy said switching up her compliments and turning them back on herself. MassyAriasII: so @RobinRoberts and I wore the same shoes on accident. This obviously means one thing. We're soul mates It was an honor to sit across from this woman. Thank you for an amazing interview and for welcoming me with warm arms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "You keeping your ring on?" Alex asked at the same time as she pulled her socks to her knees. Massy bent at the waist and did the same thing, she stopped and looked at her engagement ring for a moment and chewed the inside of her cheek thinking hard to herself. "Yes!" She said proudly. Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester New York was filled with soccer fans and sponsors. It wasn't a game this time, but a charity event. She walked side by side with Alex, trailing the team in full USA uniforms. Professional athletes playfully kept the soccer balls away from young children as they tried to get it from in between their feet, wowing them with soccer tricks that children tried to imitate. "So when can we expect to start calling you Miss. Beckham?" Jill teased Massy while she looked down at her left hand. Massy shook her head with wide eyes. "That's so wired." Jill began laughing at her. "I can't even think of planning a wedding right now! Why can't the guys plan weddings? Why people look at women to do it!?" "You want Odell planning your wedding?" Alex asked in confusion. Massy shrugged not thinking too much into the question. "You let Odell plan your wedding, you'll be standing in your backyard in full wedding attire at a crawfish boil." Massy stared down at the field as if she was daydreaming, she arched an eyebrow not necessarily disagreeing with Alex, she turned her lips down actually thinking that wasn't a bad idea. "Well... Good point." But even Massy knew that wasn't acceptable she knew she'd eventually have to get started. "Who bought a Rolls Royce?" Massy asked as she dropped her duffel bag to the floor, everyone stopped talking and looked at her, then quietly turned their heads to Odell. Odell's eyes widened in disbelief that his own friends had silently sold him out to Massy, to save face he too turned his head and began looking behind him. Everyone stood there looking at him waiting for him to turn around. She walked closer to the familiar group of men, wrapping her arms around Duke's broad shoulders and pressing her cheek to his and greeting him, then did the same to Brad and Myles. She finally got to Odell and stood in front of him. "I hope you're not keeping it that way... That color is horrible." He had been down this road not many times but enough to know that he wasn't expecting that reaction. He was sure she was going to give him a mouth full of why another car wasn't needed. Odell was lost in shock all he could do was smile, he placed both hands on her hips and looked at her for a moment. "Have I ever told you how much I love you." He said staring at her. The voices of his teammates had become muffled as they continued with their own conversations not paying any attention to Odell and Massy. "Yes, you have actually, but it wouldn't hurt to tell me again." She said smiling and closing her eyes. Odell squeezed on her hips pushing the inwards. She stood in between his legs with her arms around his shoulders as he sat in one of the kitchen stools. "But seriously, you're not going to keep it that color... Right?" Odell laid his head on her chest and just laughed.
