Sophie eyed Massy's engagement ring from across the locker room, as everyone got dressed and changed some sitting in their stools having random conversation, or fiddling with their phones. Her heart sunk at the sight of it, it was a wonder that no one checked to see if she was still breathing she stood so still looking down at her ring finger almost angry. She didn't know why she was angry, she just knew it wasn't her with the ring nor would her last name be Beckham.
There was no denying that Sophie did love Odell and she still had some type of feelings deep down in there. She could admit that she showed her love wrongly and if she could change her actions taken against him she would. She assumed if she let him be himself he would stay by her side, not realizing that if a man wanted to be kept then he would naturally make it easy for his woman to keep him. This was the difference between Sophie and Massy. The black and white, the day and night.
Odell was attracted to the space Massy gave him, he was attracted to the fact that she had no problem with walking away from him if he couldn't get his act together. It forced him to see how much he truly wanted to be with her. Sophie allowed Odell to act unkept, she allowed him to continue about his wild college ways thinking that would keep him.
"You know if you take a picture of her hand, when she leaves you'll still be able to still look at!" Alex said as she leaned over and spoke in Sophie's ear. She blinked rapidly and took a deep breath realizing where she was, she turned around and began fixing her ponytail, she leaned down and began packing her stuff up. "What are you doing we have to work tonight."
Sophie stopped and sighed, she turned around and sat down pulling her socks up and putting her shoes back on. "Fine, lets go."
Alex rolled her eyes and trailed behind Sophie. Alex did her best to be as easy on her as she could, be she made you want to push her around, her attitude and manners you were able to walk all over. As if she didn't want to get in the way of anything. Alex stopped mid dribble she put her foot on the ball and stood there looking at Sophie.
"What? Why'd you stop." She frowned in confusion.
"Why were you eyeing Massy so hard?" Sophie turned and looked off to the right side of the field. Strands of her dark drown hair blew in her face with the direction on the wind.
"It was a pretty ring."
"So why didn't you congratulate her? Or tell her it was pretty?" Sophie turned back to Alex and frowned.
"Why, she already knows it's pretty, and I'm sure she's tired of people congratulating her."
Alex smiled and let out a small chuckle. "You seem a bit annoyed."
"Yea because we came out her to practice and now we're talking about my teammate and ex boyfriend getting married."
Alex arched an eyebrow. "I never brought up Odell. We're talking about the huge ring he bought her." With every word Alex dug deeper and deeper at Sophie, her anger rising slowly as she teased her. Alex c****d her head to the side and smiled. "You're jealous." She said clearly reading through Sophie. "You're angry and jealous, you never even made it far enough with Odell for him to even think about getting you a ring."
Sophie stepped closer to Alex. "You don't know anything about me and Odell."
Alex began dibbling the ball between her feet. "I know he walked all over you like a doormat." Alex began circling Sophie doing ball tricks with her taunting her as if they were children on the playground. "I know he f****d every girl he wanted, whenever he wanted, and then came back to you when he was done and you allowed it." Sophie was trying her best to block out everything she was saying. Alex kept her head up watching Sophie's reactions she looked to be on the verge of tears, her face turned a bright red as she clenched her jaw. "Because you thought it would keep him near you!you thought it would make him happy. Come on Sophie, be real."
Sophie anger had reached its limit, her head had officially exploded. She looked down at the ball in anger and charged at Alex, before she knew it she was playing one on one soccer with Alex, both women pushed and pulled at one another fighting over the ball. "You really think he'd settle for one girl, when you allowed him to have multiple!?" Sophie ran next to Alex sticking her feet in between her legs trying to get the ball, this was the most aggressive playing Sophie had ever seen from her, Alex began laughing for a more dramatic effect. "YOU'RE A DOORMAT SOPHIE! A DOORMAT! YOU KNOW WHY HE RATHER HAVE MASSY THAN YOU!? SHE'S A BETTER WOMAN IN ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE!" Sophie finally kicked the ball from in between Alex's feet stealing it and dribbling it back down the field. She ran full speed trying to get away from the taunting that was coming from Alex. "NO MAN WANTS A DOORMAT LIKE YOU! THAT'S WHY HE DIDN'T WANT YOU SOPHIE! HE'D NEVER MARRY YOU! ARE YOU KIDDING!?!" She yelled trailing behind her.
Sophie reached the goal box and kicked the ball as hard as she could into the top left corner of the goal. Tears streamed down her face as she felt every emotion possible. She squatted down and put her head in her hands and began crying, she fell to her butt then laid down on the field. Her breathing was shallow as she tried to calm herself, the task of that was easier said than done. Alex squatted down beside her. "You see how much better of a soccer player you are when you're aggressive and actually play. Stop being a scared b***h all the time. You're not a victim nor were you ever one, so stop acting like it."
Alex stood up and began walking back into the locker room leaving her there just as Massy once did. Alex's way of pulling anger from Sophie may not have been the best way, but it worked.

"All black everythang!" Odell repeated looking over at Brad, Duke, and his childhood friend Chris as he stood on a small circular platform.
"That's what she wanted or that's what you picked?" Chris asked while watching the tailor measured every inch of Odell's body.
Odell frowned and looked down at the older man as he got a little too close to the inside of his left thigh, where his d**k happen to be resting. "I'm the man! I pick what I want!" He finally said hitting the palm of his hand to his chest and looking back over at Chris.
Chris, Duke, and Brad all arched an eyebrow at the same time. "So Ace picked it." Duke confirmed, while everyone else nodded their heads agreeing.
Odell paused for a moment and looked back down at the man as he moved to his right leg and stretched out the measuring tape."... Yea." He with defeat. They all laughed at Odell and not with him. He held a long index finger up to quiet them. "BUT... She picked all black because she knew I liked all black everything! Soooo... Technically I picked the color through her!"
"Do you know how much sense you don't make?" Duke asked with a serious face.
"It doesn't make sense to y'all." Odell moved his index finger horizontally pointing at all three of his friends. "Cuz y'all not getting married, y'all don't know how it works." Odell looked over at the tailor. "You married?"
"34 years." He said with a proud smile as he wrote down the measurement of Odell's left arm.
"See!" Odell pointed to the gentleman, who was now moving to Odell right arm. "He know what I'm talking about! They don't know nothing, they don't know what this married life is about." Odell said pressing his lips together and twisting them to the side of his face, he looked down at the older man talking as if he and Massy also had thirty-four years of marriage.
"You not even married yet! You never even been married!" Brad said throwing his arms in the air. Duke covered his face and began laughing into his hand.
Odell cut his eyes at Brad and looked back over at the old man, he extended his long arm out behind him pointing in the direction of his friends. "Don't listen to them, they don't know nothing. Me and you! See we know about this married life. That's why they gone be un-married for the rest of their lives cuz they don't know nothin!" Odell said playing with the man. Chris, Duke, and Brad all began laughing at Odell's nonsense as the older man just nodded his head in agreement.
Odell stepped down from the platform and Duke stood up taking his turn to be fitted for his suit. He stepped up on the platform, and lifted his arms out showing off his wingspan.
"Aye, you might wanna sew two suits together for him, he kida big. Might wanna get him a Shaq suit!" Odell said to the old man as he began taking Duke's measurements.
"Man shut up!" Duke said putting his head down and laughing.
"Man, if you don't leave that old man alone." Chris said looking at Odell but pointing towards the tailor.
Odell frowned as if he didn't know what Chris was talking about, he also pointed in the same direction. "What? I was seein if he knew my uncle, he might know my uncle." Odell kept a straight face the whole time even with the amount of playful nonsense that was coming out of his mouth, while Duke, Brad, and Chris tried their best to remain composed but it was no use.
Odell's three day old Rolls Royce was no longer an silver and copper paint job. The all black high gloss paint glistened against the the sun. Finally being able to pick it up, Odell ran his hand a across the hood of the car and smile brightly, clearly his new toy was done up to his satisfaction. Duke shook his head as he admired the car.
"Shotgun." Brad said taking no time to open the front passenger door.
"Damn, this what you get when you get engaged? Duke said looking over the car as he sat in the back seat. "Why am I not married? What have I been doing with my life?"
"I mean, she got a ring, I get a car..." Odell leaned forward against the steering wheel as he made a right turn. "This is my engagement ring." He said laughing.
"Well s**t, the ring and the car cost about the same." Chris teased, sitting in the back seat with his hands behind his head as he enjoyed the warm, sunny New York weather.
Odell turned around pressing his lips together and widened his eyes, giving Chris a very honest look, completely agree with what he just said. "In the same tax bracket." He said laughing.
