Although the surgery was anything but routine for him, the medical team seemed pretty blasé about it, prepping him carefully while making sure that he was strictly bound to the gurney. His mouth was full of some sort of semi-hard material that stretched his jaws and allowed him to breathe through his mouth as well. His head was held in place by a metal frame so that no movement was possible, allowing him only to see what his eye movements would permit. Most of the time he just stared at the bright overhead lights, pondering helplessly how he would get out of this situation and what they were doing to him.
