Molly grinned at Conall, pumping a fist, which made him roll his eyes and shake his head before he followed Deke into the office. “What was that all about?” Deke asked, having caught the bit of interplay. “Nothing,” Conall replied, shutting the door. “Okay, she’s got this idea I’m here to try to get us together again, like in some romance movie.” “I hope you disabused her of that idea.” “I tried to, but she’s a kid, and a girl.” Deke started to scowl, then laughed instead. “At least it should keep her from trying to figure out why you’re really here.” “Exactly.
