“No!” She shoved Ryan out of the way, and the blast hit Grace in the chest. Pain like she’d never felt in her life except when William had died consumed her. “You fool!” Gabriel snarled. “That wasn’t meant for you!” Grace collapsed on the floor, gasping out of instinct rather than need. Odd thoughts formed, and her mind began to stray as her body struggled not to die for a second time. Was she truly going to die this time? Was it possible? And Ryan . . .
