Jack was a shameless jerk, but Jason was not.
Jason's voice was cold. "I'm taking you to buy gifts."
"No need to trouble yourself. My mom and I can handle it," Scarlett refused. She wasn't comfortable shopping with Jason. They weren't close like that.
As for Jack, she had given up on him. He was probably with Ariana every day now.
Even though Edward had chosen her, Scarlett felt uneasy until the marriage was finalized. She needed to make a good impression on the Bilbo family herself.
Jason had an undeniable allure, despite his cold demeanor and their frequent arguments.
Scarlett couldn't help but feel drawn to him, but she knew they were from different worlds.
Keeping her distance was the best way to control her feelings.
