Scarlett was taken aback by his question and paused for a moment before explaining, "No, of course, not."
"No?" Jason laughed coldly. "Then why don't you want us to be seen together?"
Scarlett didn't understand why he was angry and admitted honestly, "I didn't want people to know we know each other... My dad would be upset." And... it might affect her engagement.
Even though the photos were deleted, Scarlett knew how much Jenna loved to gossip. If she left immediately, she might still have enough time to get home and explain things before any rumors started spreading.
Jason's expression grew colder and colder as he looked at her. He suddenly turned around and said, "I have never been one to bend over backward to please others. I'm leaving if you're so worried about being seen with me."
