IThe older woman sniffed. “That’s because you don’t wave back. If there’s a non-waver, the wavers won’t wave.” Myrtle did not want the conversation diverted into the realm of neighborhood etiquette. She turned back to the small woman. “If you didn’t go over to visit, what made you decide to call 911?” She quietly said, “The front door was wide open. Wide open. And it was very early.
