51. More Than One

Mike and I have our normal morning in the penthouse and start breakfast. Then come the knocks at the door. Conner and Chris come in like normal. Then someone else knocks on the door. I open it and Drogon and Storm are standing there. "Good morning." Drogon comes in and slams the door in his dad's face. "Good morning. He is driving me crazy." "It's not even 7." Mike checks the bacon. "What could he have done this early?" Storm knocks again. "Go sit at the table. I'll get rid of him and take breakfast in." I grab a few dishes and hand the butter and eggs to Drogon. He follows me into the dining room. "You're early." Chris grabs some toast. "I need orange juice." "It's little bottles. They didn't send the big jug this time. Can you check the cinnamon rolls? Mike was doing something. I don't want them to burn." "Yea. Anything else?" "Milk." Conner looks around. "Where the hell's the coffee?" "Coffee pot." He takes off. I smile at Drogon. "We can never figure out breakfast. We have different favorite foods. I make enough of everything for everyone. So, every day I cook, we have entirely too much food. What's your favorite breakfast food?" "Eggs and toast, I guess. That's what we have every day." Chris sits the sausage gravy and biscuits down. "Don't ever let Mike around the gravy again. I had to fix it." "You forgot the milk." "s**t, orange juice too." Conner comes in with a big plate of steak, ham, and bacon. Drogon's eyebrow pops up. "You forgot the coffee." "Shit." Clayton comes in with the cinnamon rolls. I give him a double take. "Were you here all night?" "No. I wanted a cinnamon roll." Chris and Conner come in with the rest of the stuff. Then Mike sits down. "Well, this is about right." I nod. "I want cottage cheese salad." "Baby, eat what's here please. We don't have time to make that. We'll make it for tomorrow." I get some fruit and yogurt and some ham. The rest of them dig in. "Cheesy potatoes sound good." "We'll make it tomorrow, Chris." Drogon tries everything. Conner and Clayton make him. Then we go to Mystical Moon and go to the agility course. I shift to my wolf behind a tree and run out. Conner smiles. "Pretty girl. Show Drogon how to do it. I'm sure he'll need to see you do it 20 times before he figures it out." "That complicated?" "No. I ate too much. I need to digest before I go there." Conner opens the gate for me. "She loves this place." I take off to the start point as fast as I can. Then I run through the whole thing. I do it again and again and again. I do love this place. They eventually do it too. Then they stand around talking. Somewhere around 2 hours later, I slip on the ice and hurt my hip. My wolf screams loudly. Then I can't get up. Mike picks me up off the ice. "Let's go see granny. That hurt." He helps me get my clothes on at granny's. Then we sit at the kitchen table. "This will fix it if it's broken. Try that." She puts a cup in front of me. I chug it and shake my head. "You have to give it longer than 3 seconds. Come in Monte. What do you need?" "I heard there was an injury on the agility course. I have to file a report." "She slipped on the ice. She's alright." Mike kisses my head. Monte nods. "You can't go back there. You're a safety risk. You go too fast and won't slow down." "What the f**k? Asshole." Conner goes after him. Monte jumps backwards, into the wall. "Don't." I wave Conner off. Chris smirks. "Your ticket for all royal events is being removed. If you want to treat her like s**t, for no reason, we will return the attitude." "She is a walking safety hazard." "She's a teenage girl, Monte. Get out." Granny does something because he goes out the front door with incredible speed. I shrug my shoulders. "I've been saying he hates me. Nobody wanted to listen. Even when he came back blue, I was shocked because he's mean to me." "What happened?" "Nothing. I met him the first day I was here. We got a long fine. He told me about the training sessions. He was friendly. Then he wasn't." "I'll give him a truth potion when you're not around." "Let it go. Not everyone has to like me. We won't be here much longer anyway." Drogon stares at me. "Where you going?" "I'm not sure. I wanted to go back to Crystal Falls. But if Darmon doesn't knock it off, I don't know if I can. But my coffee shop s***h bakery is there." I shrug my shoulders. "Maybe I'm homeless again." "You're not homeless." Mike kisses my head. "Home is people and you have us." Conner smiles. "You always will." Chris nods. "And the beach. We have the beach." We jump up at the same time and point at each other. I forgot about that crazy sexy alpha there. "I guess her hip is better. I'll make some lunch." "Can you make an extra, please? Drogon's dad wants to watch them get tested." "It's going to cost him. That man is loaded." "He won't care." Drogon chuckles. She nods. "The test isn't going to place you as soulmates. Do not expect that." "YOU KNOW WHO THEY ARE?" I turn and point at her. "No. Child, sit down before you break your hip again. Drogon could end up being your mate. Anyone could. But think about how close you and Mike were before it turned purple. Conner has been with you for years, and it did not place him as a soulmate either. You have to be close to them, it can't be someone off the street. And it seems like you have to love each other." "You tried to test the beta." "I want to test subjects, yes. But I don't want that boy to get hurt if it doesn't read the way he wants. You two are not together and you barely know each other. I'll run the test. I bet money, it will come back green. There hasn't been enough time. You have to build the bond before it's accurate." "Fine." Mike nods. "If you don't want to take it, we're not going to force you. And she is right. Conner came back blue before. I'm betting it's purple this time though." It sounds like cats start fighting outside. "If that i***t is back, I'm sending him to Central. He can find his own way back." Granny goes for the door. "That was a weird doorbell." Chris leans back and looks. "It's Drogon's dad." They come in and he sits down. "Lovely table." "Thank you. The test is $2,000 to run. It is expensive. But as long as you give me a 24-hour notice, I can run it however often you want. Neither of them will have any issues with it." "I'll keep that in mind. Thank you." He hands her money. "This is a blood test. It is set up for colors. Red means a match is not possible. It will not happen. Green is possible, but the test is being done too early in their relationship. I'm guessing they will be green. Blue is getting closer. We are watching the boys who come back blue. More than likely, they will change to purple as the bond forms, or it will stay blue forever. I can't guarantee blue will turn into the soulmate bond. It's only possible." "How many have gotten blue?" "3." "Do it. Let's see." Drogon nods. "Sit by him." She cuts our hands and says a chant as she stirs it. I heal him. "I'll be damned." I jump straight the hell up and grab the cup. "IT'S BLUE. DON'T DO THAT TO ME." "I really thought it would be green. That's all. Sit by Conner now." I lay my head on his shoulder and he rubs my back. "You tired?" "No. Maybe we can go do the other courses after lunch." "I don't know with your hip. I think we should wait a little bit." "Her hip is fine. It'll do her good to move it." Granny cuts his hand and I heal it. Then she adds in the rest of my blood and stirs. "There it is." I grab it so fast. Then Conner takes it. He sits it down and pulls me onto his lap. I can't help but cry. He hugs me and doesn't let go. "Here you can see the purple and blue are very different. There is no way to mistake them." Mike winks at me. Then I look at each of them. I keep looking back and forth. Chris stares at me. "I think she just realized she has more than 1 mate." Conner chuckles. "Are you alright?" Mike jumps up. "Hold her tight."
