From her reaction, I could tell that something was amiss. She looked shocked when I mentioned the forest and a man. Eve was a good liar, and I was certain she was going to lie to me. But I wasn't ready to call her out on it.
I laughed so hard. “Why do you look so shocked, like you were really out in the forest with a man?” I kept on laughing.
The way I laughed must have made her think I was only joking. She joined me and also started laughing. “I thought you were seriously accusing me of cheating. That's why I was shocked.”
“I know, baby, I know you wouldn't do that, would you?”
