Melinda laughed. “It's nothing."

Melinda smiled. More than once. “Yes."

Janet's one eyebrow went up. “Oh?"

Janet had been patient, so she decided to give up a little of her secret.

She finished with the salt then worked on the pepper shakers. It was the last thing they needed to do before the dinner waitresses would be in. She wiped her hands on her apron.
