Luna's POV
"I can't believe Kim Devon said that." I looked at Natalie who is busy checking the inventory on the counter while I sat flat on the ground trying to re-arrange the items on the shelf.
I had to fill in Natalie on what happened during my encounter with Devon yesterday because I was so confusing.
"Right? I'm confuse as hell. Is he joking or what?" I asked a little frustrated. I heard Natalie laugh a little.
"Stop thinking about it, sweetie. Do you really like him that much?" she asked.
I stopped what I was doing.
She's right. It was just one day but I was acting as we've met for more than a year. And why am I getting affected in the first place?
I had been so playful to him the entire time so it should be natural that he teases me back.
Why did I even think too much about it?
"Oh God, you're right," I muttered.
"Did you actually spend the whole night thinking about what he said? Coz girl, your bags are so visible." her eyebrows raised.
"Stupid Luna." I scolded myself. She's actually right. I wasn't really able to sleep after what Devon said to me last night.
Why did he even say those in the first place?
If he said that to make me feel flustered, he is so mean.
Then I heard the door open. My eyes snapped in its direction when I heard a lot of voices coming in.
"I forgot my wallet hyung!"
I looked up to see Jack smiling sheepishly at a man wearing a pink shirt.
What the--Is everyone in this area handsome?
Jack saw me sitting on the floor and happily walked towards me.
"Noona!!!!"
"Hi,” I answered.
"Are you working here?"
I laughed at Jiro who smacked Jack's shoulder.
"Isn't it obvious? Plus, she was wearing the same uniform yesterday."
Jiro offered his hand which I took so I can stand.
"Hi, I'm Joshua." the guy in pink said. He is so freaking handsome but my eyes will stay loyal to Devon.
"Hi, I'm Luna," I said while smiling.
"Hyung, she's Dev hyung's girlfriend."
Jiro laughed at Jack who animatedly demonstrated his hands in a kissing manner. Joshua reached for Jack's right ear.
It's so cute, they look like a mother and son thingy.
"I told you to stop hanging around Noah when he's watching something weird."
"Ahh, hyung!" Jack protested.
"By the way, what time is the end of your shift?" I look at Jiro who already put his right arm towards my shoulders not minding the questioning look of the two.
"We're cousins," I told them so they won't get confused.
"Why did you tell them?" Jiro pouted as if he was really sad I spilled the beans.
"Why?" I asked confused. Is there something wrong with us being cousins though? I mean, we were not on good terms before but we’re good now and I don’t really mind. I’m not really into keeping us a secret. We’re not some lovers or something.
"I was planning on making Devon upset," he replied as if I just let a good opportunity pass by.
"What does that anything has to do with me being your cousin?"
I looked around when I heard Joshua's laugh. It sounded so addicting, I was mesmerized for a second.
"I know what you're thinking Jiro. Don't worry, we won't tell." Joshua said in between laughs while Jack still looks confused.
"Anyway, I was asking what time is your out?"
"Hmmm," I checked my wristwatch. "Around five?" It's four so I still have one hour left on my shift.
"Great. I'll pick you up at seven," he said as Joshua and Jack already started going around the store searching for something to buy.
"Why are you picking me up?" I asked as we walk towards the counter, his arms still hanging on my shoulder. I looked around and notice how Natalie was staring intently at Jiro. She looked shocked and basically intimidated, I wasn’t even sure if I was seeing it right. Suddenly, an idea crossed my mind.
This girl.
"It's Jack's birthday." he simply said like it was nothing.
I hit him on the chest.
"Why didn't you tell earlier?" I scolded him as I push him a little. I now made my way to Jack and Joshua.
"Hey, Jack, Happy Birthday!!!" I said as I hug him real tight.
"Awwww! Thanks, noona. Make sure to come later. We'll have a pajama party."
"Of course. What do you want as a gift?" I ask him as we walk back to the counter, Jiro and Natalie flirting with each other.
"There's no need for a gift, noona." He stated. I don’t really know if he means that because, well, you don’t really tell what you like to those people you barely knew so I understand that.
"Ow, then I'll bring whatever," I replied before I focus on Natalie and my cousin. " Hey you two, stop flirting. You're both disgusting." I laugh as I told them off. I can’t believe I had to witness that, actually. It’s weird when you see your family hitting on someone. Plus, I will be staying with Natalie for some time and that will be a little weird. Though I honestly won’t really mind.
Jiro just rolled his eyes while Natalie tries to cover her cheeks, blushing.
"Shut up, Luna. You do the same with Devon,"
I lift my eyebrows. Excuse me? It was barely a day or two.
But, does that mean he's admitting that he's trying to flirt with Natalie?
I think we have a lot to talk about.
"Hey Natalie, would you like to come later? It's Jack's day so..."
I watched Natalie's reaction as Jiro tried to invite her. To my surprise, she looked a little sad.
"Sorry, I can't I had a prior engagement," she replied. Even I was confused for a moment. I didn't think she’s decline. To be honest.
"Owww." Jiro looked disappointed, I had to stifle laughter.
"Maybe next time."
I helped Jack and Joshua put the things that they bought in the counter.
"Do you have a lot of visitors?" I asked Jack. Maybe they will invite other friends to come by. I doubt it will only be us.
"Na-ah. Jut the boys and you. We're keeping it private." I raised an eyebrow about what he said. Okay.
"Make sure to come Luna." I looked at Joshua who's already smiling at me.
"Of course."
Once the boys are gone, I looked back at Natalie who's now busy on the counter.
"What's with you and Jiro?" I excitedly asked.
"What?" she innocently asked.
"No girl. I'm not falling for that. There is obviously something!!!!"
They were both flirting with each other earlier. I guess something was up between them even before I came here.
"Nothing, really. Why would he like me? I'm just a clerk here." she said a little disappointed.
"Hey, what were you saying? Jiro isn't like that." I told her as I walk towards her. We may have been distant before but I know my cousin isn’t that kind of person. I honestly think he’ll pursue anyone he likes.
"I don't know. I mean, all the boys around me either leaves me alone because I have nothing or they try to use me for money."
I hugged her real tight when I realized that her eyes are getting teary.
"You know what, one day, you'll find a man who'll do everything for you and will give everything for you regardless of how much you can only give."
I never knew Natalie had some insecurities like these. She always laughs and is optimistic about things.
"Is that why you said no to his invitation?" I asked. Coz I would feel even worse if that’s the case. I don’t think I will even enjoy if that’s the case.
"No!" she laughed. "I really had something set later. That's free food. I don't say no to free food."
Then I felt her pushed me a little.
Thank God.
"Your shift is almost done. Make sure to look hot in your pajamas later so that man of yours would get a boner." she said.
I laugh out loud.
"You little piece of s**t!"
Why do I feel like I'm excited to see him?
